Multiple C&D winner but only poor form for this stable so far and has too much to prove on his current losing run.
Progressive gelding who has shown a particular liking for the AW so far. Good second at Southwell last time and up 1lb returning to Tapeta is a positive.
Only AW win came over C&D. Arguably slightly better on turf but put in a good performance here two starts ago and can't be ruled out on his return.
Fair on his day but all wins over shorter and he doesn't seem to be quite as good on AW (yet to place in eight starts) compared to turf.
Goes well here (especially over this distance), won off this mark two starts ago and ran well enough at Newcastle last time. Step back up to this trip could make the difference.
Only beaten a neck when third over C&D last time out. 1lb lower now and can't be ruled out at a course he goes well at.
Won on turf last summer but generally much less effective these days and is vulnerable to younger, less exposed types here.
6lb higher in the weights than at the time of his last win but was beaten less than a length over C&D two starts ago and another bold bid looks likely on his return to this track.
Steps up to this trip for the first time having done most of his racing over 5f (few starts over 6f), and has stamina to prove against some rivals who stay further than this.
Forecasts
Chaucer's Tale (5/4), Prince Jai (5/1), Gold Flash (6/1), Joey's Destiny (7/1), Lucky Lodge (8/1), Kafoo (8/1), Awesome Allan (33/1), Corporal Maddox (33/1), Frank The Barber (40/1)
LUCKY LODGE won off this mark here two starts ago and having not been disgraced over shorter at Lingfield midweek could secure another win at a course he goes well at. The draw shouldn't be an issue and though he's without a claiming jockey now Cam Hardie gets on with him very well. He is taken to get the better of Prince Jal, who ran well over C&D recently, and the progressive Chaucer's Tale.
- Lucky Lodge
- Prince Jai
- Chaucer's Tale
