Performed mainly in low-level handicaps over hurdles, winning once, but not entirely disgraced in the face of two big asks over fences so far. Sights lowered a little here so should get competitive.
18-race maiden over hurdles and still without a chase win in six starts with a series of laboured performances behind him, though he was unlucky to be brought down latest. Others preferred.
Came good over hurdles with successive wins at Fairyhouse around this time last year before the handicapper reeled him in. Looked in need of the run after nine months off when well adrift on his chasing debut recently. Better expected now.
Three-time winner in staying hurdles, albeit at a fairly modest level. Entitled to respect on his chasing debut even though his most recent efforts over hurdles have been poor and this ground may be more testing than ideal.
Moderate maiden hurdler who has shown next to nothing in two chases for a new yard this winter, pulling up on both occasions. This looks a big drop in class but hard to fancy all the same.
Has been improving over hurdles, opening his account at Tramore before finishing third there latest (both 2m, heavy). Having placed in a couple of 3m point-to-points previously, it would be no surprise to see him go well on his chasing bow.
One-time point-to-point winner who showed flashes of promise over hurdles without scoring but has raced with little sparkle more recently. Never competitive in one previous chase at Listowel back in September.
Forecasts
Nicole's Milan (5/6), Goodthynemilan (4/1), Seskin Flyer (11/2), El Vasco (6/1), Oisin James (18/1), Jonathan Wild (33/1), Seanathair (50/1)
Nicole's Milan was the best rated of these over hurdles but didn't show enough on his chasing debut at Fairyhouse recently to go overboard with and SESKIN FLYER makes more appeal. Patrick Carey's mud-lover has been improving in 2m hurdles recently and, having appeared to stay 3m when placed in a couple of earlier point-to-points, should have no problem with the longer trip on his chasing debut. El Vasco was not disgraced in the face of an impossible tasks behind The Storyteller at Fairyhouse last time and also enters the reckoning in this lower grade.
- Seskin Flyer
- El Vasco
- Nicole's Milan
