Had just the four runs as a juvenile with his best effort coming second time up over 7f at Newmarket (still looked rough around the edges). Failed to really back that run up and now makes his Fibresand/stable/handicap debut. Sire has a 20% strike-rate on this surface.
Looks to have gone backwards from his debut which came on turf at Newbury over today's trip. Two subsequent runs (both on AW) have been well below that standard and he needs to get back on track on his handicap/Fibresand debut; sire has a reasonable record on this surface.
Very much bred to be suited by this surface and took a step forward for his new yard on her first Fibresand run. That run came in a slightly better grade (0-70) and she travelled well after an absence; she's been dropped 2lb for that run and could well go close again having experienced this surface.
This will be her 5th start in a handicap but the first on Fibresand although she's starting to look rather exposed despite a career low mark here. By a sire whose progeny have a decent enough strike rate around here but will need to find some improvement to take a hand here.
This will be his first try over a mile and equally his first in a handicap (all runs over 7f so far). On paper his form here so far looks fine but in reality it's fairly modest stuff (third in a small field claimer last time); mark looks a little harsh on what he's shown so far.
Stepped forward when making his handicap debut (still not a finished article) and hasn't really had the run of the race in his two handicap starts since. Could do better in a more truly run race although this will be his Fibresand debut (sire has a relatively modest record here).
Forecasts
Going Native (5/2), Imperial Red (3/1), Hilborough (4/1), Global Angel (4/1), Isoletta (8/1), Amity Island (14/1)
Not that much handicap/Fibresand form to go on here and it may be that the slight drop in grade and second experience of this surface will see GOING NATIVE in a better light; she travelled well into the race last time and repeat of that run would see her go close here. Hilborough has to take a step forward but his sire (Makfi) has a good record here and he’s of interest for his new yard on Fibresand/handicap debut. Imperial Red needs to improve on what he shown so far but comes from a powerful yard so it’s too soon to write him off yet while Global Angel may be able to make some progress although his sires relatively modest record here is slightly off putting.
- Going Native
- Hilborough
- Global Angel
