Ran well enough in decent company at Kempton (3m, soft) over Christmas but confirmed that suspicion he's better over hurdles with some unsure fencing. Can't be ruled out eased in grade.
Shock 28/1 winner on chase debut at Wetherby (2m3??f, good) in November. Poor next time but solid effort when staying on 1L second here over 2m5f (soft) last month and this longer trip should not be a problem.
Three wins from 12 starts over hurdles, well held on chase debut at Huntingdon (2m4f, soft) 10 days ago. Should be better suited over this longer trip and can improve on that 26L defeat.
Won two of three starts at this track in 2016 (brought down when going well in sole setback). Entitled to have needed the run at Bangor in November after 646 days off. Not to be dismissed back at this track and warrants market check.
In good form over fences this winter, winning at Taunton in November before solid Leicester effort. Hurdles winner here over this trip on New Year's Day, on a career-high mark now returned to this discipline.
Just the one promising effort (from four) since coming back from summer break. That came when 8L third of eight on testing ground at Haydock last month over trip just shy of this. Beaten favourite when refusing to jump the last at Uttoxeter since.
Forecasts
Popelys Gull (9/4), Holly Bush Henry (5/2), More Than Luck (4/1), Morney Wing (13/2), Halo Moon (8/1), The Boss's Dream (10/1)
Holly Bush Henry often gives the impression that he's more suited to jumping hurdles and again was a bit sketchy at times recently at Kempton. Popelys Gull won on debut over fences at Wetherby and again showed up well last time at this track. He should be suited by this extra yardage and is respected but a chance is given to HALO MOON who has an excellent record at Fakenham. He has two wins from three starts at the track and was brought down when going well on his other visit. His effort at Bangor in November off a long absence was perfectly decent and Neil Mulholland has allowed him plenty time to get over that. More Than Luck has been in good form over fences/hurdles lately but has a career-high mark to overcome.
- Halo Moon
- Popelys Gull
- More Than Luck
