Has some useful bumper form on his CV, raced too keenly on hurdles bow at Exeter (2m1f, heavy) on New Year's Day. Not one to write off, though will have to settle much better.
May have gone close in novice hurdle (2m5½f, good) in June 2016 when trained by Gary Moore but for unseating. 579 days on sidelines afterwards and pulled up on bow for new yard at Plumpton on New Year's Day, having travelled well enough.
Point-to-point winner, useful in bumpers and has shaped well when placed both runs over hurdles so far at Leicester and Newbury over 2m in soft ground. Likely to give another solid account.
A half-brother to useful hurdler Chateau Conti, finished third of 12 in sole start in native France before joining this trainer. Yard in fine form (2-5 previous fortnight) and worth keeping close tabs on.
Gelding by Dylan Thomas, he won a Kelso bumper in September in game fashion from the front. Shaped with promise on hurdles/stable bow at Huntingdon over longer trip before falling. Down in distance, should get involved if jumping holds up.
Cost connections €70,000 and shaped well enough in pair of bumpers. Didn't jump fluently last month at Newbury (2m½f, heavy) on hurdles bow and tailed off by the end. May do better in the future.
Fair two-time winner on the Flat over 6f, sent off 100/1 for 2m Ludlow maiden hurdle on good to soft in November and was a bit keen before eventually being pulled up. Not one to be wading in behind seemingly for now.
Plenty to work on after two starts over timber, may be better equipped once achieving a handicap mark after this outing. Others readily preferred here.
Well beaten in pair of novice contest at Wetherby and Huntingdon thus far, having gone off big prices in both. Drops significantly in distance now but must settle better.
No positives to be garnered from four runs so far, latest being hurdles bow at Chepstow (2m, heavy) in November when pulled up some way from home. Readily opposable on form.
Forecasts
Brianstorm (10/11), Djin Conti (15/8), Ey Up Rocky (9/2), Another Crick (16/1), Irish Prince (25/1), Voodoo Doll (28/1), Blue Sire (66/1), Ballina Lady (100/1), Bombay Rascal (150/1), Off The Scale (200/1)
Any support in the betting for French import Djin Conti would be worth noting with his yard in good shape at the moment. Another Crick can be forgiven his tame finish on New Year's Day at Exeter given he was too keen early on and may put that behind him while Ey Up Rocky might have had plenty to say on jumping debut at Huntingdon last month had his run not come to an abrupt end. He is one to note but BRIANSTORM has offered enough encouragement in two outings over timber to suggest he'll get off the mark sooner rather than later. Gavin Sheehan is in superb form of late (6-14) and can notch another winner here.
- Brianstorm
- Ey Up Rocky
- Djin Conti
