Winner of a Brighton handicap in June over 7f when with Richard Hughes he ran well enough after that before switching to this yard for a hurdles campaign. Shaped well enough returned to the AW last time over a mile at Kempton last time and not totally out of this.
Given a break she turned in a much improved effort and her best since joining this yard when winning over C&D on her penultimate start and followed that up last time off a 3lb higher mark. Did well to win that having raced off the pace; just 4lb higher here with C&D form figures of 1211.
Back from almost a year off when showing up well in October 2016 over 7f at Kempton off a mark that was as low as he's ever been. Now reappears from another long absence with C&D form figures of 2123 with the win coming off 10lb lower albeit four years ago; interesting to see how he goes of this mark.
Hardly needed to show improved form when winning over C&D on his penultimate start in a maiden making all (travelled well). That run didn't really test his stamina though and he was beaten back in a handicap last time over 1m3f; averagely treated off this mark.
Is always of interest around here even more so of late bouncing back to his best when winning over C&D in November off a 5lb lower mark. Should have made it another win over C&D last time (travelled well; denied a run) when finishing strongly and has to be of interest here.
Consistent sort around here with firm figures of 2341 resuming winning ways on his penultimate start under today's rider off a 5lb lower mark (first time he had been apprentice ridden). Ran well enough last time out maintaining his consistency although he will need to progress to win off this mark.
Not won since completing an AW hat-trick in early 2016 with the last of those wins coming off a mark of 79. Given a chance by the handicapper of late and shaped better than the bare result last time (pace too slow; left poorly placed) and granted a strong pace would be of interest still.
Makes his stable/AW debut having shown winning form at up to 1m3f in Germany last year. Finished well held in his three most recent starts though and best watched here.
Forecasts
Colourful Career (4/1), Miss Minuty (9/2), Music Major (9/2), Bayston Hill (9/2), Buckland Beau (11/2), Jumping Jack (7/1), Native Fighter (14/1), Cayuga (20/1)
Plenty of winning C&D form on display here with five of these fulfilling that criteria and MUSIC MAJOR has claims to be the best of that bunch having looked unlucky not to won a similar contest last time out when finishing second to Bayston Hill having not had the run of the race. Miss Minuty has won her last two C&D starts but she needs to overcome a career high mark to add to those earlier victories. Colourful Career is another one who needs to show more to land this but if he gets a proper gallop Buckland Beau would be very interesting off a mark that leaves him very well handicapped on his old form.
- Music Major
- Buckland Beau
- Miss Minuty
