Backed up a decent efforts in a point-to-point and then a bumper with a smooth win on rules debut at Southwell last month. Plenty more to come and has to make the shortlist despite the 7lb penalty.
Experienced from point-to-points and has posted some encouraging efforts since joining his current yard. Likely more to come but does have improvement to find. Possible a step up in trip will also suit in time.

Winner of a Tralee point-to-point before joining his current trainer. Done very little wrong since then and wasn't beaten far when second here on Boxing Day. Today's extra distance can help, so well worth a check in the betting.

Well behind Ballinslea Bridge at the Christmas meeting here and has a good bit to find if he's going to reverse the form. Possible the longer trip will help but looks set for a minor role if this goes true to form.
Posted very ordinary form at best so far and big improvement required. Hard to see the first-time cheek pieces providing the key to success - probably safe to look elsewhere.

Stumbled early on hurdles debut at Newbury and was soon tailed off. Hard to make a strong case for him on that evidence and others more readily preferred.

Six-time winner on the Flat - seemed best around 1m6f - but two starts over hurdles have left a little to be desired. Yard does well here but may have to wait a little longer with this fellow.

Another with a bit to find with Ballinslea Bridge after their recent encounter and already starting to look exposed. Yard always respected but looks a risky option for win only this time.

Cost £90,000 in a private sale at Aintree and starting to look the part after a solid effort over C&D in November. More required but has to be respected on these terms, so worthy of consideration - especially if supported in the betting.

Made very little impression on hurdles debut at Wetherby just after Christmas and difficult to lay out a strong case for improvement on that evidence. Best just watched.

Overcame trouble in running to win his bumper here last May; creating the impression he's got the heart for a battle. Also showed promise in both subsequent starts over hurdles, so feasible he's got a bit more to offer now he's stepped in trip.
Modest on the Flat (1 win from 22 starts) and seems to be of a similar level in this sphere. Might improve for the extra distance and would be very harsh to judge her on her latest effort when she was outclassed in a Listed race. Hard to fancy.

Forecasts

Super Sid (13/8), Ballinslea Bridge (2/1), New Quay (4/1), Second Time Around (7/1), Absolutely Dylan (10/1), His Dream (28/1), Eurato (40/1), Little Pippin (40/1), Debacle (66/1), Pronto Tonto (80/1), Brights Park (100/1), Cranbrook Causeway (100/1)

Verdict

There may be more to come from Super Sid, who won his latest start with plenty in hand cannot be discounted in what looks a weaker event. However, BALLINSLEA BRIDGE has done very littler wrong so far and, given that he is in receipt of 7lb, the consistent gelding just edges preference this time around. Second Time Around and New Quay are forwarded as the best of the rest.
  1. Ballinslea Bridge
  2. Super Sid
  3. Second Time Around
