Has disappointed connections when beaten favourite in his last two starts but is a front-runner and could be dangerous running over this shorter trip.
Ended the season with a win at the Cheltenham festival in the Cross Country chase and a fine second of 40 in the Grand National. May need this run on-route to bigger prizes.
Had some solid form for David Dennis and this sort of trip on soft ground suits him well. Has settled into new yard without any fuss and showed great resolution to battle to victory at Cork before disappointing last time out and others preferred.
Beaten favourite last time out when a disappointing fourth of five behind The Game Changer. Has failed to build on his Punchestown win in April and will need to improve to figure.
Winner of a single chase in 17 and struggled on return to the larger obstacles on St Stephens Day at Leopardstown. May find this a tough assignment.
Winner of one of his eight chase starts and well beaten on his last three efforts. Looks a little out of his depth here.
Has shown relatively little in his last two starts including a heavy 71L defeat last time out at Fairyhouse. Others hold stronger profiles.
C&D and Grade 2 winner over fences in February 2015 but unraced until finishing fifth of 11 on return in a Thurles handicap hurdle last month. Best form gives him place claims at least.
Trip last time out appeared to be too far last time out in the Grade B Paddy Power chase and will appreciate this drop in distance. Improved performance expected.
Classy handicap chaser on his day and took the Grand Annual at last year's Cheltenham Festival but well beaten since in a number of grim performances. Looks a tall order on recent form.
Has disappointed connections in a number of gloomy performances this season at Cork and Leopardstown and vast improvement needed to figure.
Beaten a total of 96L in a couple of horrid performances including last time out in the Grade 1 Ryanair hurdle. May appreciate return to the larger obstacles but this looks a tough ask.
Winner of two novice chases in the summer before being over-whelmed in a Grade 3 contest at Galway going on to be well beaten in Grade 1 Drinmore novice chase. Looks opposable.
Forecasts
Acapella Bourgeois (9/10), Polidam (5/1), Townshend (5/1), Doctor Phoenix (13/2), Cause Of Causes (10/1), Don't Touch It (14/1), The Game Changer (14/1), Mallowney (16/1), Elusive Ivy (16/1), Kilcarry Bridge (20/1), Dysios (20/1), Rock The World (25/1), Tell Us More (25/1)
Plenty of willing early leaders here with Kilcarry Bridge, The Game Changer and the Willie Mullins-trained Acapella Bourgeois expected to be in the front-rank in the initial stages of this contest. The trainer has a trio of chances in the race and the Simon Munir-owned POLIDAM can sit behind the leaders making his move at the business end of the race under Daryl Jacob. Don't Touch It and Doctor Phoenix can battle for the minors.
- Polidam
- Don't Touch It
- Doctor Phoenix
