Well-backed ahead of his latest start but a promising effort petered out rapidly and he has been off the course since. Possible something was amiss but a 3lb rise in the weights suggests the handicapper has taken that into account.
Greatly improved lately and she did well to get as close as she did last time having come off the bridle before halfway. She should be a factor here with an extra 2f to travel.
Off the track since scoring over C&D in November. Up 5lb but a big sort who is expected to improve this year.
Cost €165,000 as a yearling, and is a half-brother to AW winner Cat Royale. Has failed to catch the eye in three starts in maidens but may have more to offer now handicapping.
Early promise has given way to disappointment with his last two performances being dire.. Looks hard to recommend at present
Has not shown enough in her two starts over here to suggest she will be ending her trainer's current drought.
Improving sort who found himself with too much to do at Southwell last time having got boxed in on the bend. His Newcastle form proves his effectiveness on this surface and a useful 5lb will be claimed by his talented rider.
A debut third to Lexington Grace and Hello Girl puts her on a very attractive mark but she has not been as good lately. Tries this surface for the first time and one to monitor in the market.
Working his way down the handicap but has not been finding much at the business end. Possibly not that straightforward and others make more appeal.
Fared little better on his graduation to handicapping. Connections now reach for headgear and step him up in trip. Bred for middle-distances so improvement will be expected.
Has shaped well since switched to AW handicaps and her last two runs suggest she is ready for this longer trip. No forlorn hope.
Forecasts
Mouchee (7/2), Font Vert (7/2), Mr Carbonator (4/1), Amadeus (15/2), Bill Cody (9/1), Prince Consort (9/1), Lady Jayne (12/1), Raven's Raft (22/1), Lady Of Authority (33/1), Sunhill Lad (33/1), Say About It (50/1)
A few of these could improve on what they have shown with Amadeus a case in point. The step up in trip should see plenty of improvement and he is bred to better than his current mark. Lady Jayne and Lady Of Authority have made progress lately and promise to do so again at this trip, whilst Bill Cody is an expensive purchase who may do better now handicapping. Mouchee has been given a break since his latest C&D success and this big type has the scope to defy the handicapper. MR CARBONATOR had been on an upward curve prior to his latest defeat when he ran into a wall of horses at a crucial point and then found the leaders beyond recall. This looks a good opportunity to regain the winning thread under a rider who is expected to challenge for the apprentice title this year.
- Mr Carbonator
- Lady Of Authority
- Amadeus
