Showed a likeable attitude when battling back to break his duck over hurdles in first-time visor at Newcastle (3m, good) last time. Up 5lb for that, but going the right way, handles soft ground and follow-up a possibility.

Ran on strongly to win by a neck at Bangor (2m7f, heavy) last week on his handicap debut. Wasn't much to choose between the first few home there, but still room for improvement and has to enter calculations again under his penalty.

Made frame in a soft ground Market Rasen novices' hurdle and bettered that at Sedgefield (2m1f, good) next time. Never a threat over 2m3½f (soft) in reappearance at Wetherby but gets in off low mark for handicap debut and market check advised.

Has won over 1m5f (soft) on the Flat and has shown a bit of promise in all three hurdles starts, including over C&D last time. Now goes handicapping from a workable mark and could do better as a result. Market check suggested.

Well beaten in all completed starts under rules and pulled up at Newcastle (2m6f, soft) last time. Stamina still to prove as well as plenty of others things, though has basement mark for handicap debut. Nonetheless, others preferred in this field.

Verdict

CHU CHU PERCY was game when asked a few questions at Newcastle last time out and he is taken to defy a 5lb rise for that success and follow-up. Tailor Tom also did well on his handicap debut at Bangor last week and reappears quickly under his penalty. You certainly can't rule him out from making the necessary improvement, but he had a fairly hard race that day and the concern is that it might have taken the edge off him. Gogo Baloo and Aramist are both well worth checking out in the market on their handicap debuts and it would be no surprise to see either show a fair bit more this time.
