4-20 over fences but under a cloud at present. Best form has come in the warmer months and probably best watched for now.
Twice a winner here in late 2014 but fleeting signs of promise amid interrupted career since. Tailed off at Wincanton a month ago, but capable of stepping up on that now on his favoured circuit.
Has failed to improve for a drop in grade on his last two starts over fences. His best form over these obstacles came here and that run would command respect if repeated.
Struck form at the turn of 2017 and well-handicapped on that form. However, the signs prior to those efforts were more encouraging than they are here.
In-form trainer would clearly like to win this race which sports his name and he has a candidate capable of doing so. Highly tried of late but now just 1lb above his last winning mark and into a class where he is 2-4.
Punished by the handicapper for an 8L victory last March but now 2lb below that mark. Four of his five wins have come in this grade and the softer the ground the better for him. One to note in the market.
Won once over hurdles to date. Switched to chasing latest where a distant second (only three finished). Longer trip here to suit but little to suggest he is well handicapped.
Landed a hat-trick over hurdles last February but not at his best over fences this term. Has always looked a chaser in the making and it is possible his handicap mark has been beyond him. Drops 5lb for this and that makes him interesting.
Winner at 2m over hurdles but also placed over an extended 3m. Should strip fitter for two recent runs and stable going well, but hard to argue he is on a fair mark.
Nicely weighted on his 2015 form, but his two runs back from an absence suggest he is a long way below those levels.
Ex-Irish mare landed a poor race in handsome style at Hereford before Christmas and a 7lb rise seems fair. Overall record of 3-41 suggests she is unlikely to follow up so soon, but in good hands and receives plenty of weight.
Forecasts
Tb Broke Her (4/1), Nansaroy (6/1), Bandon Roc (13/2), Gorsky Island (15/2), Kilmurvy (17/2), Abracadabra Sivola (9/1), Grove Silver (9/1), Bendomingo (10/1), Goohar (11/1), Freddies Portrait (14/1), Ready Token (50/1)
Tb Broke Her hacked up at Hereford last time and she would be expected to go close here in receipt of plenty of weight from her rivals. However, GOOHAR could be another for the in-form Henry Daly team who are 4-10 in the last two weeks. The nine-year-old is more attractively weighted now and is back into a grade where he has reserved some of his best performances. Grove Silver is feared for similar reasons and a market move for him would be interesting, whilst Nansaroy and Bandon Roc are better than recent performances would have you believe.
- Goohar
- Tb Broke Her
- Nansaroy
