Belated debut in November at Wolverhampton saw her finish third and offered something to work on from that maiden over an extended 1m1f. Every chance she'll build on that if taking to this surface. Yard has 25% strike rate here previous 12 months.

Well-backed favourite on debut in 1m Newcastle maiden in November but didn't have the answer when question was popped. No better next time at Wolverhampton over extended-mile. Up again in trip and not written off.

Holy Roman Emperor filly outran odds of 25/1 to be close fourth of 14 in 1m AW maiden at Dundalk last month. One of two for trainer in this field and merits plenty respect with likely improvement to come.

Dubawi filly is bred for this task and wears the Godolphin blue, Appleby team red-hot lately (4-6) and yard has 31% strike rate at Lingfield previous 12 months, respected.

Iffraaj filly ran well on debut last month in 1m AW maiden at Dundalk (2½L behind stablemate Aibell). Should progress from that run and somewhat intriguing that Joseph O'Brien brings them both to this contest.
Zoffany filly cost €20,000 as a yearling, resold for 30,000 gns as a two-year-old. First foray on the track and is worth a second look in the market, though could potentially have found easier starting points.

Filly blew the start on debut over 1m here last month, giving away her chance. She wasn't unfancied in the betting on that occasion and should leave it behind. One of two for Gosden yard.
Much-improved on second start at Wolverhampton (1m½f) in November when ridden more forcefully and finishing 1¼L second of 11 in Fillies' Novice Stakes. Yard in good form (2-4) and should play a part.

Sent off 50/1 on debut here last month over 7f and was in trouble a long way from home. Up in distance this time, watching brief seems best.

Forecasts

Aibell (2/1), Calliandra (4/1), Frown (9/2), Spring Waterfall (5/1), Dream Point (6/1), Sophie Gray (6/1), Liberty Lynx (14/1), Middle Creek (20/1), Genuinely Crowded (33/1), Tornequeta May (100/1)

Verdict

Charlie Appleby has his team in supreme order at the moment and his record here at Lingfield is also very strong. On that basis, it is hard to ignore the claims of the nicely-bred newcomer CALLIANDRA. She certainly hasn't been handed a penalty kick on her first outing, but may be the answer just the same. Joseph O'Brien is double-handed and can go close, with Aibell likely to confirm Dundalk form with stablemate Dream Point. Spring Waterfall also wears the Godolphin blue and is due plenty respect on the evidence of her Wolverhampton second in November. Frown completes the shortlist for an interesting finale to proceedings.
  1. Calliandra
  2. Spring Waterfall
  3. Aibell
