Reverts to hurdles where he is 1-10 for this stable debut from a mark 2lb lower than when last jumping them at Ayr in April. Conditions/trip just about ideal and stable among winners, so couldn't rule out, though has never won when fresh.

Scored over this trip at Cork (good) in May when 9lb lower and has been chasing on first two runs for this yard. Return to longer trip will suit better than last time and 10lb claim very useful, so could go well.

Showed promise in bumpers for Nicky Richards but took a bit to warm to his task over hurdles before coming good by an eased-down 11L at Market Rasen (2m4½f, soft) on handicap debut last week. Claims under penalty.

10/1
Irish point-to-point winner who was modest as a novice but has done better in recent handicaps, winning over C&D (good) from a mark of 83 and going close last time from 3lb lower than today. More needed but can't rule her out.

Almost a year ago to the day he was beaten just 4½L in a Bangor handicap hurdle from a mark of 109. Largely a tale of woe since then but after a 20lb slide he came back to form over C&D last time and is of more interest now from same mark.

Won an Irish point-to-point three years ago and has occasionally run well in maiden hurdles in Ireland. However, reduced to just one start in past year and not easy to recommend him from this mark on previous handicap efforts.

Won over 2m6½f over fences, though yet to convince over 3m. However, pedigree strongly suggests that he should get the trip, especially on ground that is not too testing. On very competitive mark and claims on return to hurdles.

Court Baloov34
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: Henry Brooke| T: A C Whillans| OR:  81| CD
4/1
Scored over C&D (good) when last seen in November. Up 3lb for that and also upped in grade. 2017 form suggests that this will find him out, especially on slightly slower ground, but it would be churlish to rule him out completely.

Forecasts

Full Jack (5/2), Randy Pike (5/2), Court Baloo (4/1), Jump For Dough (11/2), Lady London (10/1), Justatenner (20/1), Show's Over (25/1), De Danu's Bach (40/1)

Verdict

RANDY PIKE was a very easy winner at Market Rasen on Boxing Day and with bags of stamina in his pedigree, he looks capable of following up under a penalty, now stepped up in trip. Lady London has found her feet at this sort of level lately and she could again go well, while Justatenner is also interesting given that it is not long since he was running well from a much higher mark. Show's Over is on the sort of mark from which we know he can get involved, while last-time winner Court Baloo will need to improve to follow-up and Jump For Dough enters calculations now back up in trip and under his 10lb claimer.
  1. Randy Pike
  2. Jump For Dough
  3. Show's Over
