Galway Hurdle winner in 2015, overall record of 3-10 jumping hurdles. Returns from 375 days off now, trainer capable of having one ready and worth market check. One of two for the yard in this.
Likeable performer for connections on Flat and over hurdles, is the elder statesman at ten-years-old in this field and may be vulnerable to younger legs. Well held in 2m soft-ground handicap at Fairyhouse this month.
Hugely progressive in three-race winning sequence last season, likes to front run and gone well both outings this term, latest when 3¼L third of 20 in valuable Fairyhouse handicap. Likely to give another good account.
Winner over 2m4f at Punchestown on debut for this trainer in October and not disgraced this month off 10lb higher mark in valuable Fairyhouse handicap over 2m. Runs off same mark and closely matched with Yaha Fizz on that form.
Just one win from 15 starts over timber so far, often runs well without getting the job done. Seasonal reappearance here and market may reveal more in terms of expectancy levels.
Two recent efforts over this trip have been excellent, finished ahead of some of these rivals at Fairyhouse early in the month. Flopped over 2m4f at Navan since, this will be her eighth runs since September.
Out of form at Cheltenham and Aintree in two quick runs in the autumn, has his own notions about this game (run out three times) and doesn't appeal as one to trust.
Beat well-regarded sort to win 2m Clonmel maiden hurdle in October and another step forward when ½L second to Us And Them at Punchestown this month. Open to further progress and yard amongst winners lately.
Winner of a maiden hurdle on debut over timber at Down Royal (2m, yielding) in September. Tougher since in handicap / mares Grade 3 contest and has some improving to do here. Yard going well.
Navan winner in March (2m, heavy) off a mark of 119. Shaped with plenty promise at times since but handicapper retaining a grip. Dropped another 2lb this time and represents leading connections.
Out form over fences lately, needs this switch to bring about some reinvigorating. Significantly lower mark over timber however, so well worth noting for market vibes.
Just held last month in a handicap at Huntingdon (2m, good to soft) in class 3 company. This is tougher but should give decent account from lower Irish hurdles rating.
Fortunate maiden hurdle winner at Down Royal in March (2m½f, yielding to soft), has run well in trio of handicaps since. This is tough but could improve in first-time cheekpieces.
Forecasts
Ben Dundee (7/2), Trainwreck (4/1), Yaha Fizz (7/1), Neverushacon (7/1), She's A Star (9/1), Dixie Lee (12/1), Geneva Barracks (12/1), Baby Jake (12/1), Quick Jack (14/1), Sanibel Island (16/1), Joshua Lane (20/1), Lion In His Heart (25/1), Ted Veale (25/1)
Yaha Fizz is likely to make the running out in front here and has maintained the good impression he created last season in two runs this term. He should go well, but may again be vulnerable to a closer late on. Ben Dundee wasn't far behind him last time and should be in the mix for this while his stablemate Sanibel Island is getting back towards a winnable mark. Quick Jack is respected despite an absence and any support for Tony Martin's former Galway Hurdle winner would be noted. TRAINWRECK has impressed in his three starts over timber for Henry De Bromhead and appears to have been given a chance by the assessor now going handicapping, with a 5lb claim in the saddle to assist. He could be up to landing this typically tricky contest.
- Trainwreck
- Yaha Fizz
- Quick Jack
