Decent strike-rate, having rattled off three straight chase wins at one point last term and competitive in Grade 1 events in the spring before a win in the Grade 3 Poplar Square chase at Naas last month. Others preferred here however.
Looked a promising chaser when unbeaten in two starts last season, returned from absence with canter in 2m4f (heavy) Gowran Park contest last month and the one to beat now.
Placed in Grade 1 company in last three starts of novice campaign, albeit soundly beaten in each. Finished 5L second behind Ball D'arc on reappearance over 2m at Naas, more needed here although could continue progress.
Placed in several Grade 1/2s but has never won a Class 1 race. Not getting any younger and vulnerable once again to some of the slightly more classy performers in the field having finished fourth of five in Shloer Chase at Cheltenham last month.
In and out performer, won a Grade 3 over 2m at Naas last season after transferring to this yard, beating stablemate The Game Changer. Poor on reappearance at Cork in October and perhaps best watched here.
Just about all the way winner of the Grade 2 Craddockstown novice chase at Punchestown last month when holding off the attentions of Tombstone - winner of Grade 3 Klairon Davies Chase at Navan subsequently. Will need to keep improving.
Result Amended
Min - Original Position 1st. Amended Position 2nd.
Simply Ned - Original Position 2nd. Amended Position 1st.
Forecasts
Min (2/7), Ball D'Arc (11/2), Ordinary World (12/1), Woodland Opera (14/1), Simply Ned (16/1), Tell Us More (50/1)
MIN looks very tough to oppose in this. He won over the C&D 12 months ago, beating some very useful yardsticks as he pleased. Injury robbed him of a potential rematch with his Supreme Novices' Hurdle conqueror Altior in the Arkle but he's back on track now. He won in good style on his reappearance and, barring an accident, should be better than these. Ball D'arc has placed in top-level company in the past and looked good last time at Naas, he's potentially next best and maintain his advantage over Ordinary World.
