Bumper winner at Carlisle (good) in May and off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles when winning on good-to-soft ground at Catterick last time out. Penalised for that success and one for the shortlist today.
Point-to-point winner in February and followed up a debut bumper success when winning on heavy ground at Hexham last time out. Carries a penalty for that victory and he is likely to run well once more.
Fair efforts in four starts in bumpers but beaten 61L when making his debut over hurdles on good-to-soft ground here two months ago. Likely to be of more interest once tackling handicaps.
Placed in a bumper for Emma Lavelle and ran well to finish second on debut for his yard in a 2m maiden hurdle at Hexham (soft) last month. Interesting to see how he fares on this occasion.
Finished third in a five runner point-to-point on soft ground in March and ran well when finishing just behind Rockalzaro at Kelso (good) on rules debut in October. Interesting if repeating that effort today.
Struggling from a relatively early stage prior to pulling up on hurdling debut at Market Rasen (good-to-soft) last month. Probably best watched at present.
Forecasts
The Dubai Way (11/8), Rockalzaro (6/4), Black Art (11/2), Pookie Pekan (10/1), Aye Aye Enya (50/1), Secret Melody (66/1)
POOKIE PEKAN ran well to finish a close fourth at Kelso on rules debut two months ago and he can register his first victory in this novices hurdle. Rockalzaro finished just in front of the selection on that occasion and Donald McCain's charge can finish second on this occasion ahead of The Dubai Way who is seeking a second victory over hurdles today.
