Handicap has tumbled through a barren spell but showed he is now getting close to a competitive mark when second last week at Chelmsford. Short of room early on there so reason to believe he could go one better.
C&D winner in October and followed up at Chelmsford before latest fourth to Temple Road back here. 7lb better off with that rival today so hopes high he can turnaround the 3½L deficit.
In great form in the Autumn with two seconds followed by back-to-back wins at Redcar. Latest effort was however quite disappointing and suspect handicapper has now caught up.
Ended a near 12-month wait when winning readily and rather unexpectedly given recent form over C&D latest. 6lb higher today and not always been able to follow up on good runs.
Dual C&D winner was 3¾L behind Temple Road latest when fifth. 9lb turnaround with that rival makes a reversal today a distinct possibility although it must be noted he's on a 16 race losing streak.
Had several of these ahead latest when last of 10 behind Temple Road. Only beat one home in last three starts combined so very hard to fancy.
Landed a hat-trick on turf in the summer and is now only 1lb higher than last of them after subsequently below par form. Return to quicker surface could help and he's a dual winner at Chelmsford so does appreciate AW.
All three career wins over C&D and was second to Temple Road here latest. 5lb better off with that rival so every chance he can turn around the 1½L deficit and looks the best of six to run together there.
One of the five who chased home Temple Road latest over C&D. 3¼L behind and now 7lb better off with the winner so possibilities for him here.
Had a break since Kempton win in October. 2lb rise for that not unduly harsh but will have to be spot on in a race full of fit and mostly in form rivals.
Forecasts
Mr Pocket (3/1), Temple Road (9/2), Roundabout Magic (5/1), Awesome Allan (5/1), Sandfrankskipsgo (13/2), Shackled N Drawn (10/1), Entertaining Ben (14/1), Mossgo (25/1), Ask The Guru (25/1), Culloden (33/1)
Temple Road got back to winning ways latest and five of his defeated rivals take him on again with each now better off at the weights. Deciphering what to expect this time with their revised handicaps isn't easy but the runner-up that day ROUNDABOUT MAGIC gets the vote as just about the best handicapped this time around and he clearly loves it here. Mr Pocket is an interesting alternative. He didn't run against Temple Road but ran well at Chelmsford and could be well treated now if back to form.
- Roundabout Magic
- Mr Pocket
