Two quick wins over C&D see him saddled with 12lbs worth of penalties here as he comes back to try and complete a quick-fire hat-trick. His last win came by a narrow margin but he showed a good attitude and although this is tougher he has run (and won) off higher marks in the past.
His form here over 5f reads well (252212) but it took a fall to a career low mark for him to win here on his penultimate start (beat a reluctant favourite). Ran well under a penalty last time out (1lb lower here) and should run well again given his current form.
Made her first start on Fibresand last time out (in blinkers) and typically travelled well before finding less than looked likely (not for the first time). The losing run continues to mount though and the run style is a worry when looking at her as a win proposition.
Can blow hot and cold but returned to form on his penultimate start over 5f at Wolverhampton off a 4lb lower mark. Strangely for him wasn't in the same form next time out also on Tapeta at Newcastle (usually holds form once found) and has won here.
Has one decent piece of form to his name over this C&D when second here in August off a 4lb lower mark looking all speed and only touched off close home. Shaped better than his final placing last time (first-time visor) and may come on for that run.
Has won here over this trip but does appear to find things happening rather quickly over 5f these days even on this surface which he acts on. Undeniably well handicapped on his old form but probably better over 6f these days.
Still a maiden and has only had four runs for this yard but this will be the first over the minimum trip which looks worth a try. Shaped well enough over 6f on Tapeta last time out and worth watching in the market especially from a yard that does well here.
Made her handicap debut on this surface over a mile (raced freely; showed little) at the start of 2016. Lightly raced since then and now runs over the minimum trip for the first time since her debut; best watched in the circumstances.
So far has shown very little on three starts in maidens although there was a glimpse of ability on her debut over 6f. Has never really built on that and now makes her handicap/Fibresand debut off a lowly mark; sire has a modest record on this surface.
A five-time winner on Fibresand (three wins over C&D) and fairly lightly raced of late although he did take a small step back in the right direction last time out. He still looks a risky proposition though even off this basement mark and others appeal more.

Pearl Acclaim (2/1), Archie Stevens (4/1), Sir Harry Collins (6/1), Coiste Bodhar (7/1), Men United (10/1), Bond Bombshell (12/1), Roy's Legacy (12/1), Dazeekha (20/1), Very First Blade (20/1), Secret Striker (25/1), Blackadder (33/1)
This race doesn’t look as strong as the one the previous two that Pearl Acclaim has won recently but those exertions may have taken their toll and whilst he’s respected here he’s not one to be taking too short a price about. ARCHIE STEVENS has also been in good form of late and he could regain the winning thread here with his consistent record over C&D standing him in good stead. Bond Bombshell ought to go well in this grade although he finishing efforts is always a worry whilst Men United and Sir Harry Collins are two other who look capable of playing a part in the finish.
- Archie Stevens
- Pearl Acclaim
- Men United
