Beaten a long way in all four starts on turf from 7f-1m2f. Now tries this surface for the first time, but impossible to recommend from what we have seen to date.

First foal. Dam unplaced 1m3f-1m4f AW and a half-sister to Graded stakes-placed 1m and 1m2f winner Joe Bear out of maiden full-sister to 6f/7f two-year-old Group 2 winner Sri Pekan. Stable 1-3 with AW juveniles so far, so could go well on debut.

Beaten 14L on his soft ground racecourse debut at Nottingham last month and then 23L on AW debut at Chelmsford (1m) last time (sent off at 10-1). Looking very much like a nursery prospect once he has a mark.
Well beaten on both starts (at Chelmsford and Kempton over 1m) so far, showing no improvement from first run to second. Could do better this time, but still has plenty to prove.

Reasonable debut effort here over 7f last month, but went backwards last time when tried at Kempton. Return to this venue may help and step up in trip another potential positive, so would be no surprise to see him more closely involved today.

$350,000 yearling. Closely related to 6f-1m½f winner Waterway Run (inc. at two) and Arcina (US 1m dirt, inc. at two). Half-brother to four other winners and is a very interesting newcomer from a top stable. Should give a good account.

Sent off at 8-1 for his Kempton debut (7f, AW) last month but ran green and was beaten 10½L. Likely to prove significantly better for that experience and the step up to 1m and can take a decent step forward this time.

Well held on both of her starts in maidens at Nottingham (1m½f, soft) and more recently Newcastle (1m, AW). Needs to take a step in the right direction this time, though likely to be of more interest when she has a handicap mark.

At 33-1 there didn't appear to be great expectations ahead of her Chelmsford debut last month and so it proved, with a 16½L 12th of 14 there. Bred to be effective at this trip and can take a step forward this time around.

Made a bit of an improvement on her Kempton (7f) debut when staying over that trip at Wolverhampton last time. Will need a much more significant improvement to get competitive here and step up to 1m could help with that.

Forecasts

Three Weeks (8/11), Brigham Young (7/2), Culpability (9/2), Diablery (10/1), Balkhash (14/1), Thistimelastyear (33/1), Argent Bleu (40/1), Beloved Knight (50/1), Born To Spend (66/1), Amenhotepthethird (100/1)

Verdict

Brigham Young and Thistimelastyear have shown the best form of those to have raced here, with the former being preferred to take a bigger step forward this time. Three Weeks is another potential improver, but the win may well revolve around debutantes Argent Bleu and the expensive purchase CULPABILITY, who could be the one today. John Gosden's colt is related to juvenile success and he should be ready to go first time, while the former may be seen to better effect over further.
  1. Culpability
  2. Argent Bleu
  3. Three Weeks
