Improved for his debut (7f) at this track when returning over C&D in a similar race last month. Beaten almost 9L there after a slow start, staying on reasonably well. Couldn't rule out of the money provided he can get a little more involved earlier.
50-1 and always behind when beaten 22L into last of 12 over 7f at Kempton on debut in September. Has been given some time before returning here and could benefit from both that and the step up in trip, though looks one to watch.
40-1 ahead of his debut at Wolverhampton (7f) earlier in the month, but would have finished closer than a 7½L sixth had it not been for some traffic problems. That was eyecatching in context and if he can build on that here he should be in the mix.
Both runs so far have been on soft ground on turf, improving from the first one to be beaten just under 3L at Nottingham last month. Sire won on Polytrack and ran well on dirt, so he would appear to have the credentials to make a big impact in this.
25-1 on debut over C&D last month and raced keenly there before being beaten just under 6L. Should be capable of a fair bit better having got that out of the way and no reason why he can't get involved this time.
Made the frame when a 3L third of nine at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) last month but was too keen when trying the Polytrack at Kempton last time. Needs to bounce back from that on her first try here and over 1m.
Did okay for a long way after dwelling at the start on her debut at Kempton (1m2f) last month. Drop in trip looks well worth a try at this stage of her career and progress anticipated this time around.
75,000 gns yearling. Second foal. Dam a 1m6f/2m AW winning half-sister to 1m2f-1m4f Group 1 winner The Fugue out of Group-placed 1m1f winning half-sister to winners Summoner and Compton Admiral. Should be capable of a good debut run.
22-1 but belied those debut odds when a 3¾L third over C&D last month. That was a very promising effort in the context of this race and she has solid claims if she can produce a repeat or better.
Forecasts
Oskemen (13/8), Sweet Charity (7/2), Sophie Gray (9/2), Mewtow (7/1), Ventura Magic (9/1), Classic Charm (16/1), Cleverley (25/1), Barnay (33/1), Jetpac (150/1)
Sophie Gray has the pedigree to run a big race on debut and it would not be a surprise if she were too good for this field, but SWEET CHARITY made an encouraging debut over C&D and with that positive experience under her belt, she might be able to make it count today. Oskeman is feared in opposition, while Mewtow and Ventura Magic are others with some sort of case.
- Sweet Charity
- Sophie Gray
- Oskemen
