Followed up a couple of decent bumper efforts with victory in a heavy ground novice hurdle over an extended 2m5f at Newton Abbot in October. Drop in trip should suit following a defeat over 3m at Southwell (good) later that month.

Fair effort despite finishing last in a Ffos Las bumper on debut in May but well beaten since and likely to struggle once more.

Best effort so far came when finishing 10L third in a maiden hurdle on his debut in this sphere at Taunton (2m3f, good) last time out. Interesting to see if he can build on that today.

50/1
Placed in a couple of point-to-points in Ireland and stepped up on bumper debut when finishing 32L fifth in a Chepstow novice hurdle over 2m on heavy ground last time. Also declared 13:30 Southwell Sunday.
Good effort when fourth in a Warwick (good-to-soft) bumper on debut but not built on that in two subsequent starts and probably best watched on hurdles debut.
Finished a highly promising second in a 14 runner Warwick (soft) bumper on debut back in January. Unraced since but one for the shortlist on today's hurdling debut.

25/1
Point-to-point winner at the third time of asking on good-to-yielding ground in Ireland in the spring. Finished a decent sixth in a bumper at Worcester (good) on rules debut in October and worth a check in the market now sent over hurdles.
Well held in two bumpers and a similar result on last months hurdling debut. Probably best watched on this occasion.

1/4
Winner of a competitive Punchestown (good-to-yielding) bumper for Robert Tyner in the spring. Cost connections €270,000 subsequently and drops in grade following a couple of good efforts in Graded novice hurdles.
Placed in bumpers at Southwell (good) and Bangor (good-to-soft) but disappointed on both novice hurdle outings so far. Tongue tie worn when sixth at Towcester (good) last time out is retained today.
Finished runner-up in four bumpers and put in decent efforts in a couple of maiden hurdles over 2m at Ffos Las (soft) and last time out at Ludlow (good). Likely needs to improve if she's to take this contest however.

Forecasts

Vision Des Flos (1/4), The Hollow Ginge (4/1), Paisley Park (7/1), Grania O'Malley (16/1), Faint Hope (20/1), Smuggler's Blues (25/1), Biscuit (33/1), Itsamanslife (50/1), Just Another Vodka (100/1), The Final Whistle (150/1), Awaywiththeblues (200/1)

Verdict

PAISLEY PARK ran well when making his racecourse debut at the start of the year and the selection can make a winning debut over hurdles for trainer Andrew Lavelle. Vision Des Flos has been highly tried in his two outings over obstacles so far and he can chase the selection home today while the sole penalised runner in today's field The Hollow Ginge can claim third dropping in trip today.
  1. Paisley Park
  2. Vision Des Flos
  3. The Hollow Ginge
