AW winner over 2m in France and won a maiden hurdle at Fakenham for Nicky Henderson at around this time last year. First run for this yard saw him out the back over hurdles at Galway, so hard to know what to expect on this return to the Flat.
Formerly smart on the Flat and over hurdles, but getting on a bit and nowhere near the force of old. Latest efforts have not been encouraging and he starts out for a new trainer.
Four wins from 20 AW starts, but seems particularly effective on the Southwell Fibresand. Something to prove on this surface so others are preferred.
Last win came on the AW at Southwell in March, 2015. Not disgraced at this track in September and is feasibly handicapped.
Something of a course specialist with four wins to his name. Not at his best on recent outings, but handicap mark has dropped and he would be a player if regaining his best form.
Five-times winner on turf on the Flat and successful once over hurdles. However, he is 0-5 on the AW and has something to prove on synthetic surfaces.
Only one win in 23 outings and that came on the Southwell Fibresand. Creditable fourth of nine at Wolverhampton last time, but others boast better profiles.
Lightly-raced filly who has shown promise without getting her head in front in five outings. Ran well to be second over this trip at Lingfield two starts ago and any improvement on that would make her dangerous.
Only win came over 1m4f at Lingfield in the summer. Has struggled off higher marks since then and may need more assistance from the handicapper.
Maiden on the Flat and over hurdles, but has been placed in both disciplines this year. Should first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect, he could be involved in the shake-up.
Still looking for his first win in 16 starts, 12 of them on the Flat. Ran well at Wolverhampton last time, but that was over 1m4f and he has yet to prove he has the stamina for this distance.
Forecasts
Caged Lightning (4/1), Stylish Dancer (4/1), Tynecastle Park (5/1), Angel In The Snow (5/1), Retrieve (6/1), Ruler Of The Nile (8/1), Fitzwilly (12/1), Conkering Hero (14/1), Bracken Brae (20/1), Argante (25/1), Katie Gale (25/1)
Course specialist Bracken Brae would be dangerous if returning to form and Tynecastle Park could be a threat if taking to cheekpieces, but STYLISH DANCER is taken to confirm the promise of her second over this trip at Lingfield two starts ago. Caged Lightning may be the best of the rest.
- Stylish Dancer
- Tynecastle Park
- Bracken Brae
