Well beaten in two outings since winning in first time blinkers (left off today) in a handicap chase at Bangor (3m, good) in September. Races off a mark 6lb higher than for that success today.
Put in some decent performances without winning so far in 2017 and still in touch prior to unseating on heavy ground here last time out. Drops in trip today.
Winner once from five starts with that victory coming on soft ground in a 2m5f maiden hurdle at Warwick in March. Wears a tongue tie for the first time having pulled up on last months seasonal and chasing debut.
Successful twice at Plumpton over an extended 3m1f in February last year. Unraced since finishing third at Fontwell the following month and worth a check in the market today.
Rewarded for a couple of promising efforts when winning a handicap hurdle at Hereford (soft) in March. Disappointed over fences on seasonal debut in October and brought down at the second subsequently.
Victorious twice over hurdles but well beaten at Ffos Las (2m5f, heavy) on sole start over fences for this yard last month following a long absence. Others make more appeal in this contest.
Successful four times over fences most recently at Stratford (good) over an extended 2m3f in April. Failed to complete on two outings since returning from a break.
Winner of a heavy ground maiden hurdle in Ireland but well beaten on last four appearances including when pulled up on debut for this yard last month.
Good effort in finishing third on heavy ground at Ffos Las (2m5f) last time out. Races off the same mark today and wears a tongue tie for the first time.
Completed a hat-trick when winning over an extended 2m7f on good ground here in April. Finished runner-up twice since then and races off a mark 5lb higher than for his latest success.
Sole success under rules came at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) in a novices handicap chase in November 2015. Well held on his last three appearances and more needed today.
Winner over 2m at Ffos Las (good) in April. Running well in the main since then and worth a check in the market on his return from a break today.
Forecasts
Longtown (4/1), Nansaroy (4/1), Lord Bryan (9/2), Major Hindrance (7/1), The Cider Maker (7/1), Rocknrollrambo (8/1), Looks Like Power (16/1), Zalgarry (16/1), Cernunnos (16/1), Allow Dallow (25/1), Modeligo (33/1), Hurry Henry (50/1)
LONGTOWN can put a disappointing chase debut behind him by taking this competitive looking contest. The selection had impressed when winning on soft ground at Warwick over hurdles last season and with last months Exeter experience behind him he can take this at the chief expense of Rocknrollrambo who was in good form earlier this year while The Cider Maker can claim third on his return from a long absence.
- Longtown
- Rocknrollrambo
- The Cider Maker
