Marked step up on debut effort when winning a 2m1f bumper here on seasonal reappearance at 25/1. Won with plenty in hand so 7lb penalty not enough to temper enthusiasm and sets a good standard.
Dano-Mast newcomer cost €7,000 at two and £5,000 at three. Dam placed in a 1m4f French bumper. Trainer has few bumper winners so barring significant support he is best watched.
Kalanisi gelding outran odds of 66/1 in a newcomers event at Southwell last month when fourth. Runner up let the form down since so more an each-way chance than win.
Favourite but only fourth on debut at Ayr where failure to settle was his downfall. Hood and tongue-tie added and every chance of significant improvement for yard in excellent form.
€1,800 newcomer by Doyen is a half-brother to a point-to-point winner. Trainer none from 20 in bumper last five years so best watched here.
€2,800 Lucarno newcomer is brother to a 2m hurdle winner and half-brother to a winner at up to 3m1f over timber. Trainer not known for bumper success so best watched barring support in the market.
Newcomer by sire of Whisper, Astarabad. Half-brother to two French hurdle winners and a bumper winner. Trainer does quite well in bumpers so this one of the most likely newcomers.
Stoutly bred newcomer by Westerner out of a maiden point-to-point winner by Old Vic. Stable bumper runners very scarce but yards runners are always of interest if supported.
€1,800 foal by Alflora. Brother to useful hurdle and chase winner at up to 3m2f Potters Cross. Pedigree all stamina and late debut suggests a backwards staying type.
Forecasts
Theatre Legend (7/4), Dunkereen (3/1), Dancing Doug (6/1), Lucky Lucarno (7/1), C'est Deja Ca (8/1), Masteen (14/1), Jesse Jude (16/1), Tab Hogarth (25/1), Younoso (33/1)
DUNKEREEN is worth another chance with the addition of both a hood and tongue-tie. He was well backed on debut for a yard in which does well with bumpers so he presumable shows plenty at home. Theatre Legend is the main danger even with a penalty after a comfortable enough win here last time. Of the newcomers the most likely is Masteen who has a most attractive pedigree and he hails from a yard which does quite well in bumpers.
- Dunkereen
- Theatre Legend
- Masteen
