Gained first win for this yard at second attempt in 7f Leopardstown handicap before beaten 3¾L at Doncaster last month in tricky handicap. Market likely to reveal expectations.
C&D winner who finished last of 11 when last here in December 2016. Not to be dismissed on 2lb higher mark than last win back at favourite track.
No win since 2014, a sequence that comprises 35 starts though not disgraced at Royal Ascot three starts ago. Hard to fancy on return.
Gallant front runner who is a C&D winner has been beaten last twice but may appreciate return to this trip.
C&D winner here in April when sent off the 4/6f. Two from two at the course and more progress possible here in first-time blinkers.
Popular veteran who has been plying his trade in Group 3 contests over the summer. Quite a bit going for him but top-weight a negative.
Fine effort on return here over 7f only beaten a length into fourth but failed to build on that run when last of 14 over inadequate trip.
Rock-solid performer course winner that has won over this distance. Beaten favourite last time out and comes here on a handy mark.
Successful three times as a two-year-old including in a Group 3 event at Newmarket. Beaten on two occasions here the most recent in September when 2L behind De Coronado. Worth a market check.
C&D winner last month off 1lb lower mark before finishing third of 10 beaten 4½L but not far behind Katiymann. Not to be underestimated.
Forecasts
Katiymann (9/4), Glastonbury Song (3/1), Gordon Lord Byron (5/1), Beach Bar (8/1), Sanus Per Aquam (9/1), Captain Joy (12/1), Secret Wizard (14/1), Grey Danube (20/1), Elleval (25/1), Geological (25/1)
Geological likes to get on with things and will set a good clip here in the early stages of this contest. KATIYMANN is a rock-solid performer, a course winner that has won over this distance and can go well here. Consistent C&D gelding Secret Wizard and the Ger Lyon's-trained Glastonbury Song in first-time blinkers can battle it out for the places.
- Katiymann
- Glastonbury Song
- Geological
