Had given notice that he was capable of a better run on his seasonal return and given a more positive ride than usual he ran well to finish second at Hereford last time off this same mark. 2lb well in now compared to his future mark and given a very sound chance in this.

A break and cheekpieces appeared to be the catalysts for her win on handicap debut earlier in the year over 2m looking as though a stiffer test would suit. Given another break she's not returned in the same form this time although this mark now looks stiff enough.

Form had looked very modest in novice hurdles but did show a little more on handicap debut on a sounder surface than he had previously encountered. Mark still looks a stiff one overall though and his jumping has let him down the last twice.

Only modest on the whole over hurdles he was given a try over fences last time (second start for this yard) and is quickly back over hurdles. Failed to complete over hurdles on first start for this yard and this looks a restorative run.

Form in bumpers and over hurdles so far has proved poor (finished well held on all occasions). Dropped 5lb from her initial mark over hurdles (made handicap debut last time) but still showed little and best watched here.

Verdict

Not a strong event and it lacks any real strength in depth. SCHNABEL looks to have a good chance of following up his Hereford second here with that being the soundest piece of form in the race. Minella Style is given a more realistic task in this and looks the main danger with most of the others having question marks against them although Parlour Maid has at least shown winning form but this does look a tough mark.
