Not seen over hurdles since 2016 where he ran well in penultimate handicap before possibly not staying 2m7f. Won a couple on the AW back in March but struggled since. Hard to gauge back over hurdles but others more obvious.
Looked like he may be getting hang of things over hurdles in last two starts in summer before recent return where he tailed off on handicap debut. Plenty to prove at present.
Fourth in handicaps in last three starts and handicap mark gradually easing all the time. Barely stays so this particularly sharp 2m is probably her best chance. Top connections and looks leading player if ready after a break.
Yet to win in eight starts but encouragement he might do so soon latest when fourth at Fontwell. Held a chance two out there before tiring but a drop to 2m today should help so worth considering.
Only beat one rival in first two starts combined over hurdles but slightly better latest when fifth of 11 at Fakenham. First time handicap today and best days probably ahead.
Maiden of 27 starts who fell over fences here last time out. Beaten a long way in two hurdle starts for current yard and very little to get excited about at present.
Little encouragement in first three hurdle races in novice events and last on handicap debut. Running best race to date latest here when booked for second until falling three out. Each-way claims today.
Best hurdles run came over course and distance when second in September 2016. Yet to beat a rival in two starts at Kempton for current yard on the flat so questions aplenty at present.
Forecasts
Our Merlin (9/4), Be Daring (9/4), Money For Nothing (7/1), Free One (7/1), Kristal Hart (8/1), Wisecracker (14/1), Briac (16/1), Zarliman (50/1)
KRISTAL HART will need a canny ride to nurse her home given her stamina weakness but she has the right man on board and this is one of the easier 2m trips so she can take advantage of a mark she is very capable off. Be Daring looks likely to be better suited by 2m having himself come up short stamina wise over slightly longer trips and he enters the reckoning here. Our Merlin was running a much better race last time until unseating and while his jumping in general is sketchy he must have a chance.
