Improved former since joining this yard, comes here on the back of two effortless wins (including over C&D). Defied 7lb penalty without a scare at Ludlow and another 4lb will do well to stop the hat-trick bid.

Unfancied last month at Huntingdon (2m4½f, good) on return from layoff and was brought down early, may still have fitness to work on as a result. Rated only 2lb higher than when winning over this C&D in April.

Career-best to win Bangor handicap hurdle in October over this sort of trip off a rating of 88. Blundered away his chance of follow-up at Taunton 18 days ago over 3m but still only beaten 4L at the line. Dangerous to discount.

Just 3-36 over hurdles but two of those have come this year and has run couple of pleasing races at Sedgefield and Huntingdon last month to leave him spot on for this. Longer trip will be to his liking and mark is coming down to winnable level.

Long in the tooth now and some time since he showed any meaningful form and hard to make any sort of case for. Mark falling fast but he shows no sign of being able to take advantage.

Forecasts

Saucysioux (4/6), Walter Oneeightone (3/1), Polarbrook (7/1), Phare Isle (10/1), Blackwell Synergy (25/1)

Verdict

Such has been the ease with which SAUCYSIOUX has won her previous two starts that it is hard to imagine a 4lb ratings hike will be enough to dent her hat-trick bid now. She's improved significantly for this yard and, while she'll have to jump better for the champion jockey, she has the beating of these rivals granted a clear round. Walter Oneeightone showed improved form at Bangor when winning in October and did well to finish so close after a late mistake cost him his momentum at Taunton next time out. He's feared most ahead of Polarbrook and Phare Isle.
  1. Saucysioux
  2. Walter Oneeightone
  3. Phare Isle
