Showed plenty of ability when third of 11 on debut over 6f at Nottingham in October, though not as good next time on soft at Doncaster. Bred to be speedy and interesting on AW bow dropped to 5f.
Newcomer represents good yard, though only 2-25 with two-year-old newcomers this year. Brother to 6f Group 1 winner on this surface and worth second look on debut.
Not exactly looking progressive and is now 0-7, has twice been runner-up here over this trip and 6f. Beaten favourite at Newcastle (6f) nine days, cheekpieces added now.
Sent off a 200/1 rank outside on debut over C&D 25 days ago and duly failed to beat a rival home, watching brief best for now.
Well fended off in debut over 5f (good to firm) on turf at Catterick and similar tale on AW bow at Newcastle (6f) four weeks ago, plenty to work on to get competitive.
A half-sister to four winners, she'd bred to be decent at her level and hails from respected yard on debut, betting check called for.
Cost €300,000 and is a sister to Group 1 winner Signs of Blessing amongst others. Made promising start over 6f at this track and could build on that 5L third now dropped to minimum trip.
Cost connections 15,000 gns at sales in early summer, a half-sister to six winners she is entitled to respect on debut and could be capable of having a say.
Rock Of Gibraltar filly out of a half-sister to high-class 6f-1m winner Delegator, another newcomer of note in this opening contest.
€30,000 yearling by Havana Gold is a half-sister to eight winners most of which have been sprinters, she hasn't shown a lot in two starts, including over 6f here last time. Improvement required.
Went off 33/1 on debut over 5f at Beverley in maiden company in July on sole start, showing some hints of ability. One of two for trainer in this line up (looks best hope on jockey bookings).
Forecasts
Midsummer Knight (9/4), Al Asef (4/1), It's A Wish (6/1), Ingleby Molly (10/1), Argon (12/1), Our Tony (12/1), Spanish Mane (20/1), Madame Ritz (25/1), Straffan (50/1), Haxby Juniors (100/1), Born For Prosecco (100/1)
It's A Wish was an expensive purchase and made a fair start last time at this venue over 6f, there should be more in the offing now and market confidence would be respected. A bold bid from Midsummer Knight cannot be ruled out, though he's had his share of chances already and so this might go the way of AL ASEF. He's bred to speedy and showed enough on his Nottingham debut to suggest a race like this is within his compass dropping to 5f for the first time now.
- Al Asef
- It's A Wish
- Midsummer Knight
