9/4
Winner of one of his five starts over fences for Phillip Hobbs and ran well to be placed in decent company. Sets out for a new trainer after a break since April and has sound claims if straight enough.

Monbeg River44
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-4| J: Henry Brooke| T: M Todhunter| OR:  128
11/4
Running well without getting his head in front during the last two years, but went close on his reappearance outing at Wetherby last time. Might just have needed that first run for over nine months and should go well off the same mark.

The Fresh Prince20
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-13| J: B S Hughes| T: O Sherwood| OR:  123
11/2
Performed consistently well during his novice chase season, but reappearance run in a valuable contest at Aintree saw him pulled up after making much of the running. Made mistakes that day and needs to jump more fluently.
4

Monsieur Co15
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Stan Sheppard(3)| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  129
8/1
Winning hurdler/chaser in France and made a winning start for current trainer over timber at Wincanton in January. Switched to fences at Taunton last month and faded after holding every chance four fences from home. Has been dropped 4lb.

Master Burbidgep11(ex 7)
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Mr J J Codd| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  115| D
11/4
Progressive individual over hurdles and fences. Has won two of his three starts over the bigger obstacles, including last time in decisive fashion at Plumpton. Up another 8lb, but might well be equal to the task under his crack Irish amateur jockey.

Forecasts

Drumlee Sunset (9/4), Monbeg River (11/4), Master Burbidge (11/4), The Fresh Prince (11/2), Monsieur Co (8/1)

Verdict

Top-weight Drumlee Sunset has the ability to go close if fit enough on his return, Monbeg River has a chance of ending a frustrating run of placed efforts and The Fresh Prince will surely fare better than he did at Aintree on his first start of the seaslon. It's still early days for Monsieur Co over fences, but although that is also the case for MASTER BURBIDGE, he seems to be progressing at a rate of knots and is taken to defy another weight rise.
