Won in a very pleasing manner on debut at Roscommon in June and has to merit consideration despite the mandatory penalty. Bred for the game and sure to be a popular choice.
Fell on debut in a point-to-point but much more sure-footed on hurdling debut at here. Won easily on that occasion and hard to say how far he'll go. One of the more likely types and the penalty may not be too much of an issue.
Not shown much in three starts under rules and one point-to-point, so probably safe to leave alone this time around. Yard also quiet just now.
Shown promise on a couple of occasions but never managed to get on terms with the likes of the potentially classy Red Jack last time. Needs to up his game but looks the type to do better in a handicap after this.
Fallen twice and finished ninth of eleven on his only completed start. Not the most inspiring credentials and looks to have plenty to prove at present.
Two outing in big fields have resulted in two mid division finishes - both times at long odds. Likely to be a similar scenario if running to form.
Didn't achieve much on the Flat but has fared about better in two starts over hurdles. First run away from Cork but possibly he's got more to come and no forlorn hope of making the frame.
No much to take from his three outings so far and big amount of improvement required. Others much more realistic options.
Placed in a decent enough handicap over 1m2f on his final start on the flat but lacked fluency on hurdles debut and failed to use it as a platform. Much more needed here.
Good pedigree for the winter game and represents a top yard. One to monitor in the betting.
Difficult to put a level on the worth of his form in France but showed up nicely last time and now in the right hands to make further progress. Definitely a contender if ready after absence since March.
Promise shown on debut at Navan but lacked a turn of foot in a bumper at Punchestown last time. Open to further improvement back over hurdles but needs to take big step forward.
Won a bumper here last November and went on to post a decent effort in a similar sized field at Punchestown when last seen out. Absence a worry so a betting check could be advisable before getting involved financially.
Form on the Flat reached a plateau pretty quickly but showed enough of hurdles debut to suggest she can pay her way. May need a bit more experience though.
Cheap purchase but related to jumps winners. This looks a stiff test for her debut run though.
Out of a dam who was pretty effective over hurdles, so positives to be taken from her pedigree. Probably going to be better for the experience though.
Never managed to get involved on debut and hard to she her finding the improvement needed to figure this time.
Unseated on debut in a point-to-point but did fare better in her first start over hurdles at Clonmel earlier in the month. Further step up required but worth noting in the betting.
First reserve. Poor effort on debut and needs to bring his game up a good number of levels before he can be a serious contender.
Second reserve. Not much impact so far - poor effort on the Flat was also uninspiring. Best left alone.
Forecasts
Real Steel (10/11), Daly Tiger (11/4), Champagne Paddy (6/1), Killasser Boy (10/1), Present'n'correct (10/1), Stacks Mountain (14/1), Coldamour (14/1), One In All In (20/1), Chesterfield King (33/1), Owenacurra Lass (33/1), Commandant (50/1), Granny Maura (50/1), Giveittomestraight (66/1), Montauk Flyer (66/1), Devine Star (66/1), Misty Millie (100/1), Backintheboom (100/1), Harbenali (100/1)
The top two look the best options at this stage, with CHAMPAGNE PADDY just edging the nomination ahead of Daly Tiger, who is progressive but may have met his match just for the time being. The selection won well on debut and created the impression he has a bright future ahead of him. Real Steel and Owenacurra Lass are others worth bearing in mind.
- Champagne Paddy
- Daly Tiger
- Real Steel
