Lost unbeaten bumper/hurdles record at Fontwell (2m1½f, good) this month in conditionals' contest when 4L second to smart-looking hurdling newcomer from Seven Barrows, should be in the mix once more.
Dual placed in point-to-points and cost current connections €140,000 in April. Second in 16-runner Newbury bumper this month on rules debut for champion trainer, entitled to be fitter now going hurdling.
Narrow winner of a bumper at Taunton in April, essentially disappointing in novice/maiden hurdles at Chepstow and Sandown (both 2m, good to soft) since coming back in and something to find now.
Expensive at €95,000 but well held in Taunton bumper in February on debut, outran odds of 50/1 in a novice hurdle over C&D (good) following month but that still leaves something to work on. Respected connections and could well be improved.
Beaten out of sight in bumpers at Warwick and Wincanton either side of summer break, big surprise should the gelding make a winning debut in this sphere.
Showed little in two hurdles outings in the spring of 2015, including 23L defeat over C&D, and now returns from 929 days off. Market may offer more clues but surely going to come on for this.
Well held on hurdles bow at Stratford last month and similar tale tackling 2m5f here a fortnight ago. Big step forward needed coming back in trip and may be one for handicaps in time.
Plugged on to finish third of six at Wincanton (2m5½f, good) on jumping debut last month, beaten just over 8L. Didn't fare as well down in trip on soft ground at Chepstow next time. Down to the minimum now and facing some potentially useful rivals.
Shown some promise in bumpers, latest being 15L fourth of 12 at Southwell last month off a break. Should be fit from that outing now jumping flights for the first time and worth noting in the market.
Sulamani colt who has plenty of winners in his pedigree, duly landed a bumper at Huntingdon with minimal fuss in May on good ground and commands respect on return to action / hurdling debut.
Sent off 66/1 and finished in midfield in a bumper at Fontwell last month on debut, yard are 0-22 with hurdlers in the previous 12 months and unlikely to end barren spell now.
Second runner for Colin Tizzard, the filly has shown ability in bumpers but she was under pressure a long way out and eventually tailed off on hurdles debut at Plumpton (2m4½f, good) three weeks ago. Perhaps needed the run, down in distance now.
Forecasts
Burrows Edge (13/8), Highway One O One (5/2), Potterman (10/3), Casterly Rock (9/1), Mister Malarky (10/1), Ourville's Million (66/1), Captain Simon (66/1), The Premier Celtic (100/1), Itsnonofurbusiness (100/1), Empty Marmalades (100/1), Kalarika (100/1), Diminpete (100/1)
Highway One O One shed his unbeaten record under a penalty last time at Fontwell, but may have done so behind a useful winner, he's conceding weight all round here but is not readily overlooked. Burrows Edge made a fine start for the champion trainer when running second in a big-field Newbury bumper recently and should be spot on for this first jumping test as a result. Casterly Rock and Kalarika are potential improvers but the manner in which POTTERMAN won his Huntingdon bumper on sole start in the spring was impressive and Alan King's charge appeals as the type to do well in this sphere. He can get off to the best start by landing this.
- Potterman
- Burrows Edge
- Highway One O One
