Fifth foal and related to two winners. Dam was a 6f winner on the AW. Makes debut with yard just 1-104 since September.

.Captain Gerrard gelding made a decent fist of things over 6f on AW at Chelmsford on debut in February. Probably needed the run last time but jockey bookings suggest Bequia is better fancied.

Returned from a break to finish runner-up to a long odds-on favourite last time. That told us little but an earlier second at Doncaster may be good enough.

Highest rated of those to have achieved a BHA mark. Claims on the pick of his juvenile form but his worst performance came here and there is a year's absence to overcome.

Third when supported on return before flopping in the Redcar mud last time. Two of his best efforts have come here but he still has something to find if others run to form.

Has failed to fulfil the potential showed when second on her Newmarket debut. Left Martyn Meade for a yard that paid £40,000 and who have a knack of improving their acquisitions. She is the stable jockey's choice from two and has to settle better.

Vale Of York filly who cost £12,000 and a half-sister to several winners (dam won over 7f). Last of seven on debut and trainer has not had a winner under the age of four in the past five years.

Half-sister to Limato who improved to finish third here three weeks ago but still has 5L to find with Decision Maker. Shaped that day as though she needed further and handicapping may be a more profitable route.

Forecasts

Decision Maker (9/4), Pudding Chare (5/2), Bequia (3/1), Kingofmerrows (9/2), Limoncino (20/1), Captain Bond (22/1), Bobby Joe Leg (33/1), Dream Destroyer (125/1)

Verdict

A market move for Bequia would be revealing on her stable debut but she has disappointed since her debut and needs to prove herself. Kingofmerrows is the pick on his juvenile form, but a layoff raises doubts as does his previous visit here. Limato's half-sister Limoncino may prove better than we have seen but she has a 5l deficit to make up with DECISION MAKER on running here three weeks ago. Ray Bowring's charge was flattered by his proximity to the winner but a previous Doncaster second looks strong enough form. He rates the pick now that he has proven himself on this surface
  1. Decision Maker
  2. Bequia
  3. Kingofmerrows
