7/2
Good record around here winning three of his ten races at the track and scored over C&D in April off a 6lb lower mark. Ran well enough her on his comeback run off 2lb higher (reportedly lost a shoe); should go well but has never won off a mark this high.

Has run well fresh before (without winning) and could do so again here Made all to win at Leicester in February off a 7lb lower mark but not seen since falling on his next start at Haydock (was in the process of running well); chance if he can repeat his last winning run.

Vinegar Hillt123
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-9| J: Brendan Powell| T: S Edmunds| OR:  116| D
7/2
Thrived over hurdles in 2016 rising from a lowly mark of 86 to 114 in the handicap. Showed an aptitude for chasing on his debut at Bangor and again shaped well over fences on his return at Chepstow (needed race) and better than the bare result.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-6| J: R P McLernon| T: B Haslam| OR:  113
12/1
Capable of some reasonable form but can be a rather difficult customer and well known for not putting it all in on occasions. Well supported and cashed in on a falling mark at Sedgefield on penultimate start but failed to follow that up last time out; unreliable.
5

Amiral Collongesp27
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: L Treadwell| T: H J Evans| OR:  113| D
9/1
Capable of some decent form when trained in France by Ferdy Murphy and a winner over hurdles and fences for his current yard. Not the most straightforward though and can run some moody races as seen when pulled-up the last twice.
6

Have A Go Herov222
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-5| J: James Banks| T: D L Williams| OR:  112| D
11/2
Looked something of a lost cause over fences until roused into winning form by a first-time visor in a poor race at Hereford in March. Failed to back up that rather dubious looking effort (looked a hard ride) last time and best watched here on his return to action.

Copperfacejackt22
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: G Sheehan| T: P R Webber| OR:  108| D
5/2
Likeable sort who has often jumped and travelled well but took an age to get off the mark after often finishing weakly. Has now won his last two though under much stronger handling than usual and goes for a hat-trick here off a career high mark.

Forecasts

Copperfacejack (5/2), Vinegar Hill (7/2), Ultimatum Du Roy (7/2), Have A Go Hero (11/2), Amiral Collonges (9/1), The Doorman (12/1), Sunny Ledgend (14/1)

Verdict

It could well be that his stable which are in decent form have found the key to Copperfacejack and if he’s given an easy time in the lead he could well complete a well deserved hat-trick but his task is stiffer this time around. Ultimatum Du Roy always has to respected around here but his mark is looking a little on the high side now. Sunny Ledgend has shown up well in the past when fresh and has to be respected but a chance is taken here with VINEGAR HILL who would be one of the best of these over hurdles and looks to have the aptitude and scope for fences.
  1. Vinegar Hill
  2. Copperfacejack
  3. Sunny Ledgend
