Winner of a a 2m6f chase at Auteuil (very soft) in June and given a positive ride when attempting to make all over C&D on good ground earlier this month. Amateur jockey on board last time out takes the ride once more.
Gone off the boil since finishing second over 2m4f at Huntingdon (good) in April. Beaten when falling last time out and more needed today.
C&D winner on good ground 13 months ago but disappointed on his only subsequent start. Worth a check in the market on his return from over a year off the track.
Good effort in finishing runner-up (with Chef D'Equipe back in third) on good ground over this C&D last time out. Races off a 2lb higher mark today and is one to note in this contest.
Winner of a Grade 3 handicap at Sandown a couple of years but disappointing since including on his return from over 20 months off the track here last month.
Signs of ability over hurdles so far most notably when 30L third at Wetherby (soft) in January. Worth a check in the market on handicap debut.
Successful in a selling handicap at Stratford (good) in September and has run well in defeat in three subsequent starts. Usually races close to the pace and likely to run his race once more.
In good form since returning from an absence earlier this year winning at Ffos Las (soft) and placing twice from three starts. Latest placed effort came when beaten a neck on seasonal debut earlier this month and is one for the shortlist today.
Forecasts
Chef D'Equipe (15/8), Rothman (5/2), Flanagans Field (11/2), Astrum (10/1), Sandhurst Lad (12/1), Invicta Lake (12/1), Mercers Court (14/1), Guards Chapel (16/1)
CHEF D'EQUIPE can make all the running to take this handicap hurdle under top weight. The selection is again ridden by owner David Maxwell and off the same mark as when finishing third last time out he can get the better of his rivals today with Flanagans Field, who features at the opposite end of the weights to the selection taken to claim third. Rothman, who finished one place in front of the selection here earlier this month can finish third on this occasion.
