Useful novice hurdler last season but unseated in a 2m4f Grade 2 at Fairyhouse (soft-to-heavy) when last in action back in April. One to note on his chasing debut.
Twice a winner over hurdles and best effort in two chase outings so far came when third at Thurles (2m6f, yielding) last time out. Has a bit to find on hurdles ratings with Any Second Now.
Placed in a bumper at Wexford (2m4f, soft) in March last year but well beaten in the main over hurdles and probably best watched on chasing debut.
Dual winner in bumpers and made a winning hurdling debut at Gowran Park (2m, good-to-yielding) a year ago. Beaten favourite in Graded company twice since but represents a top yard and likely to play a leading role on chasing debut.
Well held in two of his three hurdles starts and a similar story when beaten 35L into eighth on chase debut at Down Royal (soft) earlier this month. Others make more appeal.
Grade 3 winner over 3m at Clonmel (heavy) as a novice hurdler last season and ran well to finish second over the same trip at the Cheltenham Festival subsequently. Slightly disappointing last time but one for the shortlist now sent over fences.
Winner off a mark of 102 in a 2m handicap hurdle at Cork in July though well held in two chase starts to date and others have more obvious chances today.
Good third behind a well handicapped rival over 2m on soft ground here on his penultimate outing but pulled up since. Probably best watched on his chase debut and first outing in nearly a year.
Twice a winner over hurdles last season including on heavy ground over 3m at Thurles in February. Decent fourth to a useful looking rival on chase debut at Galway (heavy) last time out and an interesting runner today.
Decent hurdler on her day but disappointing in two starts over fences to date and finished 82L behind the winner when favourite at Down Royal (2m4f, good) on her latest outing back in June.
Forecasts
Monalee (6/4), Invitation Only (2/1), Any Second Now (4/1), Sutton Manor (6/1), De Name Escapes Me (20/1), Billy's Hope (40/1), Pakman (66/1), Kopookris (66/1), Mr Champers (100/1), Hold Onto Your Hat (100/1)
In what looks a competitive beginners chase victory can go the way of ANY SECOND NOW who should appreciate the forecast soft-to-heavy ground on his chasing debut for trainer Ted Walsh. The selection was a debut winner over fences and can repeat that now sent chasing with Grade 3 winning hurdler Monalee taken to chase him home ahead of Invitation Only who would probably prefer the ground quicker than is forecast today.
