Dropped to handy mark but has a bit to prove after finishing last of seven at Lingfield latest. Previous three efforts not much better either, so a bit to prove despite being on a handy mark.

Previous C&D winner and down to a very attractive mark after a string of ordinary efforts. Rider also pitches in with a 7lb claim but recent form has been well below his best.

Likes to make the running and can make this a good test. Comes here on the back of a bloodless win at Lingfield and very possible he can build on that. Sound claims once more.

Another who can force the pace but can be vulnerable to a more determined type (as seen at Newcastle earlier in the month). Very well handicapped, so feasible his time could be close to hand.

Form has been a bit below his best for a while and has come up short when tried at this course (still a maiden on the AW). Others lay out stronger claims.

Likes to sit handy, so will be one of the beneficiaries of the likely strong pace. Never won away from Lingfield but this course holds no fears, so could easily nick a place in the frame.

Good effort on first start for his new yard latest; just failed in his bid to make all though. The form reads very well in the context of this race, however, so he has to make the shortlist given his confident last time out display.

C&D winner and is yet another that likes to run with the choke out. Ended a long losing run here in September but is still very well handicapped on the pick of his old form. Another to note in the betting.

Very capable of figuring at this level even though he's prone to running the odd stinker. Latest effort was one of his better ones, now 1lb lower so no surprise if he's involved in the thick of the action once more.

Decent sprinter and likes this course but is arguably better over 6f and needs a lot to go his way. Will enjoy the strong pace, though.

Forecasts

First Bombardment (2/1), Red Stripes (4/1), Spin Top (6/1), Entertaining Ben (8/1), Pearl Acclaim (8/1), Frank The Barber (12/1), Roundabout Magic (12/1), Mossgo (12/1), Shackled N Drawn (12/1), Firesnake (16/1), Malaysian Boleh (33/1)

Verdict

Fiendishly tricky race to end the card, as any number can make the running, which only conspires to cloud the picture. However, SPIN TOP may have needed the run last time and, given that he seems to have thrived since switching yards, he could be the one to benefit the among those scrimmaging up front. Entertaining Ben and Roundabout Magic can also sit handy enough to pounce in the closing stages, so also merit consideration, while Red Stripes is still well handicapped and would also be dangerous to ignore.

  3. Roundabout Magic
