Gelded son of Majestic Missile who cost £8,000 at the breeze-up sales as a two-year-old and is a half-brother to a few winners on the Flat. Tailed off on debut in a Southwell bumper and needs to show plenty more over this much shorter trip.
Not disgraced on first start for this stable when fourth in a maiden over C&D earlier this month. Should step up on that and has place claims.
Bated Breath gelding who cost 30,000gns as a foal, but only £14,000 as a two-year-old. He is a half-brother to St Leger winner Harbour Law and found 7f too short on debut. May need even further than this 1m in a first-time tongue tie.
Ran well on debut at Lingfield and confirmed that good impression when second over C&D last time, with Acker Bilk well behind. Sets a clear form standard for his respected yard.
Bred more for speed than stamina so it was surprising to see him start off over 1m4f at Catterick where he was a tailed-off last of seven. Drops back in trip with serious questions to answer in a first-time tongue tie.
Sent off at big prices when last on both starts last year, beaten a long way on both occasions. Returns from a long break and is impossible to fancy.
Well beaten in two maidens at Redcar and tries 1m for the first time. Qualifies for a handicap mark after this and that is likely to be his chosen route.
Roderic O'Connor filly whose dam was an unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Baqah. Well behind a couple of these rivals on debut and is best watched with a view to the future.
Forecasts
Francis Xavier (1/12), Flying Raconteur (5/1), Acker Bilk (6/1), Wind Turbine (25/1), Lady Sundew (25/1), Majestic Man (50/1), My Distant Murphy (66/1), Thornton Frank (80/1)
This looks at the mercy of FRANCIS XAVIER, who was second over C&D last time and sets a clear standard for the rest to aim at. Acker Bilk was well behind him on that occasion, but can chase him home. Flying Raconteur will need further in time, but may hit the frame.
- Francis Xavier
- Acker Bilk
- Flying Raconteur
