Won by 1½L on debut at Chepstow last month, and given clear signs of greeness is expected to be even stronger despite having a penalty to carry. Whilst the worth of that form is largely untested, he's still respected.
No match for a couple of useful performers (runner up Senor Lombardy a dual winner since) when beaten 8+L on debut at Kelso in September (2m good). Improvement anticipated with experience under his belt.
Unraced seventh foal by Flemensfirth out of an unraced dam (Derry Vale). Brother to point-to-point and 2m5f hurdle winner Topofthegame. Cost ÂŁ34,000 as a three-year-old.
Cost ÂŁ22,000 as a three-year-old, and not disgraced in either start so far, including when beaten 9L by impressive scorer Delatite at Sedgefield early last month (good).
Unraced second foal by Midnight Legend out of the hurdles and Flat winner Princess Rainbow. The market should be informative either way as regards his likely chance.
Unraced fifth foal by Milan out of the placed pointer Shatani (a half-sister to the useful bumper/hurdles/chase winner Measureofmydreams). Cost €32,000 as a three-year-old and represents a trainer to be feared in these type of races.
Beaten 1ÂĽL by Silver Bullion at odds of 50/1 on debut at Ayr in December 2016 (2m soft). This Dubai Destination gelding has been given time off to strengthen since, but returns in a competitive bumper.
Never involved on debut in a valuable Newbury bumper in March, so it's tough to gauge his potential level of ability. However, he cost €30,000 as a three-year-old, and his pedigree offers hope for the future.
Knocked down at a reduced price of £2,000 at Doncaster in August 2016 (€22,000 three-year-old). Showed promise for the future on debut at Ayr a fortnight ago, when just over 5L third to Hangard (2m soft).
Unraced daughter of Great Palm out of Touch Of Ivory. Cost a meagre ÂŁ800 at Doncaster sales in January 2017. Receives the 7lb mares allowance from all of her rivals.
Forecasts
Kateson (2/1), Shamilan (10/3), Just Bobby (5/1), Golden Whisky (13/2), Tekap (9/1), Rainbow Legend (18/1), Aye Right (20/1), Sunny Destination (20/1), Ulsterman (20/1), Trooblue (40/1)
A difficult bumper to solve in which the penalised Chepstow winner Kateson is much respected for Tom Lacey. He showed clear signs of greeness in winning, and should be capable of an even stronger showing having bypassed a planned engagement at Ascot just nine days ago. It is tricky to assess Tekap based upon his debut effort at Newbury (in a much stronger race), and he could be interesting if the market speaks in his favour, but Ronnie O'Leary is generally the man to fear in these type of contests, and with Tom Scudamore booked to ride the Milan newcomer SHAMILAN, he must be the favoured selection. The County Clare trainer is 3 from 5 (60%) with his Carlisle jumps runners since 1993, and that figure improves to 100% (3 from 3) if restricted solely to National Hunt Flat contests.
