Decent strike-rate, having rattled off three straight chase wins at one point last term and competitive in Grade 1 events in the spring. Shaped nicely on reappearance when third at Down Royal (2m3f, soft), and a player in this company.

Few miles on the clock and looked potentially smart when winning his chasing debut at Punchestown last season. Had excuses (reportedly coughing) when a faller next time and remains of interest on his reappearance.

Useful dual-purpose performer who won a handicap chase at the Galway Festival (2m2f, soft) in the summer. Hasn't really gone on from that since and would probably need others to falter to win this.

Only a couple of wins but boasts high-class placed form, most notably when third in the Arkle. Found only Great Field too strong at Punchestown next time and fares well at these weights. Obvious claims if tuned up for return.

Winner at Fairyhouse over 2m1f last December though has since struggled in tough handicaps over a variety of trip since. Not seen out since June and doesn't quite look up to winning in this grade.

Quite lightly-raced for his age and improved to win at Cork (2m, heavy) last season and was running well when brought down in a handicap at Cheltenham next time. may have more to offer but big ask on his reappearance.

Forecasts

Ball D'Arc (6/4), American Tom (7/4), Ordinary World (3/1), Neverushacon (16/1), Uncle Danny (20/1), Peoples Park (50/1)

Verdict

Arkle third ORDINARY WORLD had Ball D'Arc in arrears at Punchestown in the spring and now re-opposes on 9lb better terms so, as long he is fit enough to do himself justice on his reappearance, he should be capable of confirming that form. Providing there is market confidence behind him, a bigger threat may emerge from the unexposed American Tom who had excuses for his abject showing on this course last time out, having looked a potentially smart prospect when winning at Punchestown previously.
  1. Ordinary World
  2. American Tom
  3. Ball D'arc
