Dotties Dilemab,t35
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: S Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  98| D
10/3
Showed his versatility when landing back-to-back wins over hurdles/fences in late summer but has never been the most consistent of horses. Last two runs have shown that to be true with two poor displays and handicapped to the hilt now.

Horse silk
Merrion Rowt179
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-9| J: C Poste| T: M R Bosley| OR:  95
10/1
Now makes his debut for a new yard having been a winner in Ireland in March for his former connections. Due to drop 7lb in the handicap in future and this looks a tough start overall.
3
Horse silk
Black Jewelb24
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-4| J: B Browne(5)| T: P W Flynn| OR:  90
12/1
Comes here on the back of a very lacklustre display in Ireland and his career record of 0/15 means that others are much preferred in this.
4
Horse silk
How's My Friend30
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-1| J: Nick Scholfield| T: J G Cann| OR:  87| D
8/1
Drops to a mark that he may well be able to win off (has been placed off it before) although his overall record of 1/33 isn't convincing at all. Pulled-up over hurdles last time out and needs to bounce back here returning to fences.
5
Horse silk
Inchcolm167
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-13| J: Alain Cawley| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  85
6/1
Placed in four of his last starts the fact remains that he is still to get his head in front in 10 chase starts and his yard are struggling for winners at the moment. Back from a break here and needs to sharpen up his fencing to take a hand.
6
Horse silk
Shaiyzarp34
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-11| J: Nathan Moscrop(5)| T: D Thompson| OR:  83| CD
7/1
Yet to win over fences (0/12) he does look well handicapped on his hurdles form where he's won off a mark of 90. Was in a little deeper than he needs to be last time out and may well appreciate the slight ease in grade here.
7
Horse silk
Tommy The Rascalp181
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: James Davies| T: J Candlish| OR:  82
5/1
Yet to win over fences but has shown some ability in this sphere in several runs and is a hurdles winner. A first-time visor and a drop in trip failed to suit last time and the usual cheekpieces go back on.
8
Horse silk
Larkhall20
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-6| J: R D Day(3)| T: M E Sowersby| OR:  78| C| D
14/1
Can often be seen travelling well in his races although the end product is often open to question as shown by his win-to-run ratio. Ought to be able to exploit a mark like this but never sure that he wants to; place chance.
9
Horse silk
Galros Ladyp49
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  77| D
7/1
Made a winning debut for this yard at Lingfield after a successful spell in point-to-points (won five in that sphere). Failed to build on that win though off higher marks and still resides 4lb above that last winning mark.
10
Horse silk
Trillerin Minellav18
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-4| J: Thomas Dowson(5)| T: J K Hunter| OR:  76| D
50/1
Of little account these days and even at this lowly level isn't one to rely on and given his temperamental issues is best treated with caution.

Horse silk
French Seventyfivep9
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: Miss E Todd(7)| T: G Boanas| OR:  68| CD
14/1
Looks a shadow of the horse who managed to win three times here over hurdles earlier in his career. Ran as well as could be expected last time from well out the handicap and has to do so again here.

Forecasts

Dotties Dilema (10/3), Tommy The Rascal (5/1), Inchcolm (6/1), Shaiyzar (7/1), Galros Lady (7/1), How's My Friend (8/1), Merrion Row (10/1), Black Jewel (12/1), Larkhall (14/1), French Seventyfive (14/1), Trillerin Minella (50/1)

Verdict

Hardly an appealing betting medium to open what is a modest card with winning form over fences at a premium. It may be worth taking a chance with TOMMY THE RASCAL here who returns from a break with his usual cheekpieces going back on. Dotties Dilema would have a chance on his old form but could well be held by the handicapper and the eased in grade Shaiyzar is also given a shout based on his mark here which looks lenient on his hurdles form. Larkhall might be able to sneak into the frame while Inchcolm would have been more interesting if his stable had been in better nick at the moment.
  1. Tommy The Rascal
  2. Shaiyzar
  3. Larkhall
