Unable to make an impact in trio of national hunt bumpers and no threat in three starts since switched to the Flat. Hard to make a case for at the moment.

Not the easiest to train seemingly, with long intervals between three runs to date. Tailed off over 1m6f at Gowran Park (heavy) in September and cannot be recommended here on form.

Canford Cliffs gelding has gone close in all five starts since joining this trainer, finishing second four times. Gets first-time blinkers and Pat Smullen to aid his cause now and entitled to be right there at the finish.

Where Or When colt out an unraced dam, just the trainer's second runner this year and hard to recommend on debut.

Well beaten off in all seven career starts to date, step up to 1m4f at Fairyhouse (heavy) 12 days ago didn't alter the trends and chances appear limited.

Bred for this sort of test and has shown glimpses in previous outings at Galway and Navan (1m5f, heavy) that he can make inroads. Not the worse in the field by any stretch.

Thewayyouare gelding was acquired for small money and hasn't hinted in either start so far that he'll be repaying that faith in prize money soon. Back up in trip and has plenty improvement to locate.

Tale Of Two Cities colt not beaten far over 1m5f at Navan on heavy ground 11 days ago on second start. Can go well here with Manning on board again.

Above average hurdler, well held in 1m4f maiden at Fairyhouse last month on first Flat outing, last to finish in Grade 2 hurdle at Down Royal on Friday. Improvement called for in this sphere.

New Approach filly showed some promise last year over much shorter trips, market will be best guide to expectations now tackling this longer journey on first start for 372 days.

Beaten wide margins in all four starts so far, including over this trip on debut at Galway in August. Been operating over shorter distances since but positives are hard to see.

Fame And Glory filly showed first glimpse of ability last time out in mile maiden at Leopardstown, beaten just over 3L on her fourth outing. There could be more to come now tackling this longer journey for the first time.

Maiden hurdle winner over 2m at Down Royal in September but the Finsceal Fior filly has let supporters down in two subsequent outings in that sphere. Must improve on sole previous Flat outing over this trip at Gowran Park in July.

Warnaq25
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Colin Keane| T: M J Smith
4/1
By Arcano out of a Teofilo mare related to multiple winners, has looked promising in making the frame both starts to date and this longer trip should suit the filly just fine. Major player.

Forecasts

Tale Of Woe (5/2), Great Trango (3/1), Warnaq (4/1), Ilikehim (5/1), Bruinneall (10/1), Maid In Manhattan (10/1), Tellthemnuttin (12/1), Minnie Dahill (16/1), Faraway Hills (25/1), Grey Is The Dawn (33/1), Casamicciola (33/1), Backstairs Bounder (66/1), Still Alive (66/1), Highest Power (100/1)

Verdict

WARNAQ was underestimated on debut, going off 66/1 before making the frame at Tipperary. It was a similar tale at Gowran Park last month when she finished second at 20/1. The Arcano filly looks likely to appreciate this longer trip and can make it third time lucky with a replication of that effort at Gowran last time in all probability good enough here. Great Trango has knocked at the door unsuccessfully on numerous occasions already, new headgear and the booking of Smullen should aid his cause further while Tale Of Woe wasn't beaten far at Navan on his second start and should be in the mix again. The returning Bruinneall merits a betting check while Maid In Manhattan improved significantly last time out for Tony Martin and commands respect upped in trip.
  1. Warnaq
  2. Maid In Manhattan
  3. Great Trango
