Comfortable winner at Huntingdon on debut last month despite running green over 1m5½f. Stiffer track and extra ½f will both suit so soft ground only question and if she handles it will take all the beating.
Last of twelve finishers on debut at Market Rasen last month when never sighted. Huge step forward required.
€32,000 two-year old by Excelebration is a half brother to two flat winners at up to 7½f so slightly surprising he goes straight into NH racing for dual purpose trainer. Yard always respected in bumpers so market worth a check.
€20,000 yearling by Requinto is a half-brother to a 5f two-year old winner. Stable rarely win bumpers so this one best watched on debut.
€9,000 three-year old by Rip Van Winkle is a half-brother to winners at up to 1m2f. Trainer last won a bumper in 2013 so avoided on debut.
Sayif gelding as 10½L sixth behind Cuckoo's Calling on debut at Huntingdon last month. 7lb better off today so ought to bridge gap somewhat but must improve to reverse placings.
Outran 50/1 odds on debut over 1m5f at Exeter last month when a good third beaten 6½L. Every chance she improves so not out of this.
Half-sister to three winners including useful hurdler and chaser The Snail by Bahri. Likely find this too sharp and hooded first time which doesn't bode well.
Last behind Cuckoo's Calling (Zoltan Varga sixth) on debut at 100/1 before marginally better at same odds at Market Rasen. Couldn't make a case for her.
8,000gns yearling by Medicean is half-sister so six winners all at around 1m. Trainer none from 19 in bumpers in last five years so on watch list only.
100/1 on debut at Market Rasen when unseating at the start. Hard to see her being a much shorter price. Stablemate of fellow outsider Lots Ov.
Forecasts
Cuckoo's Calling (6/4), Qasr (4/1), Cassis De Reine (6/1), Zoltan Varga (13/2), Test Ride (7/1), So You Win Again (8/1), Millie The Minx (25/1), Pitch Pine (33/1), Lomhara (50/1), Lots Ov (66/1), Zilla (100/1)
The debut win of CUCKOO'S CALLING at Huntingdon is comfortably the best form on offer here so she has to be the selection. Of the debutants Qasr makes the most appeal for a trainer always feared in these contests and any market support would be notable. Zoltan Varga is best of the rest with a 7lb pull with the selection surely aiding his cause.
