Well beaten in both starts in bumpers. Will need plenty of improvement on that to have a say on his hurdles debut, but there is hurdling success in his pedigree and this step up in trip is also likely to be a positive.
Won a soft ground Warwick bumper in January and returned from a summer break with a decent effort on his hurdles debut at Huntingdon last month, albeit as the beaten favourite. Can improve for that and should be a leading contender.
Placed in an Irish point-to-point and changed hands for £28,000 in the spring. Half-brother to a 2m3f hurdle winner and dam was a useful juvenile hurdler at around 2m. May have potential and a market check is suggested on his chase debut.
Won an Irish point-to-point on debut when there was cut underfoot and subsequently placed in two Irish hunter chases for Ted Walsh. Stable/hurdles debut here after being bought for £41,000 and likely to be able to give a good account.
Former Irish point-to-point winner who is 0-11 under rules and returns to hurdles here after a spell chasing. Looks to have too much to do against some of these and probably best watched on this occasion.
Plenty of stamina in his pedigree, so perhaps no surprise that he was unable to show much in a couple of bumpers earlier in the year. Half-brother to a hurdle/chase winner over similar trips and probably one to note today with the future in mind.
€13,500 foal who then sold for €21,000 at three. Half-brother to a point-to-point winner, out of an unraced half-sister to 2m4f-3m1f hurdle/chase winner Market Lass. Yard not noted for debut winners, though a market check is probably prudent.
Rated just 46 on the Flat and was sent off at 200-1 on his hurdling debut at Carlisle last time, running as those odds suggested that he might in failing to beat home a single rival. A watching brief is very much advised this time.
Won an Irish bumper in February and repeated the dose on his first start for this yard in April, having cost connections £135,000. Half-brother to four winners and has the right sort of pedigree to make a big impression on this hurdles debut.
Made a promising debut in a Kelso bumper in February 2016, though was a well beaten favourite next time at Ayr. Not seen since then and has now left Nicky Richards for this stable at a cost of £20,000. May need this, though market check advised.
Well beaten in a Ludlow bumper in May before joining this stable and being pulled up on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter last month. Improvement entirely possible if trainer has managed to get him jumping a bit more fluently.
Yet to improve on his performance on debut in a Sedgefield bumper (2m1f, soft) 20 months ago and has been well beaten in both hurdles starts, including over C&D. Looks very much like a work in progress and one to watch this time.
Debut point-to-point winner (2m5f, soft) 19 months ago, though well held in all four starts under rules since then. Return to this sort of trip should help, but he looks in need of plenty of improvement to make an impact today.
Was consistent in bumpers, in which he finished runner-up on three occasions. Has a Flat pedigree, though that held little sway in his two runs in that sphere in the spring and now tries jumping obstacles. Probably best to check the market.
Forecasts
Planet Nine (9/4), Carlos Du Fruitier (11/4), Jammin Masters (11/2), Wemyss Point (6/1), Just Georgie (7/1), Randy Pike (15/2), Outnumbered (20/1), Florrie Knox (25/1), Bertie Blake (33/1), Strike West (50/1), Mission Trio (50/1), Super Charge (100/1), Scorpions Sound (100/1), Papagayo (100/1)
A race where it looks as though plenty of the field can be dismissed and it should pay to concentrate on a few. PLANET NINE is the suggestion for win purposes, as Rose Dobbin's five-year-old looked useful in bumpers, will appreciate this extra half mile and has a lovely jumps pedigree. Carlos Du Fruitier looks a potential improver and certainly come into the 'danger' category, while Jammin Masters, Florrie Knox and Randy Pike are others to consider and look worth checking out in the market to gauge confidence in their chances.
