Just 3lb higher than for his win at Newbury on his penultimate start but held last time and looks vulnerable again under top weight. Stiff task.
Made all to win over 1m1f at Goodwood in September but brushed aside when trying the same tactics when upped in trip latest. More patient approach may help but needs to prove his stamina will hold out.
Exploited a handy mark to win last time out but not been as effective when tried off this sort of rating in the past, so 6lb hike may be his undoing despite his rider's claim.
Not managed a win since his two-year-old days but has plenty of ability and worth a try at this trip from what may prove to be a lenient mark. Worth a look in the betting
Pedigree a cross of speed and stamina so was no surprise to see him make winning debut over a mile in February. Disappointed in his solitary subsequent start but will be fitter for the run so dangerous to rule out.
Just 1 win from 12 previous starts but has mainly been consistent so the handicapper has been slow to react. Mixed firm over this trip but capable making the frame if everything goes his way.
Winner at Chepstow in May but last two starts below par. Given a chance off her current rating but needs to up her game a good bit to figure this time.
Won the 2015 renewal of this race and thirved for a time afterwards. Dropped in the ratings since but has coped well against progressive type the last twice. Handily weighted now and could ruffle a few feathers again.
Won a brace at Windsor in August but found things tough after reassessment. Can make the running but not really well enough handicapped to suggest he can hold on till the finish.
In good heart in modest company of late but this looks a stiff test for his first try at the trip. Respected but others preferred.
Hard to predict but comes into this on the back of a couple of solid runs. Best with a bit of give underfoot so something to prove on the predicted going.

Celestial Spheres (3/1), Tomahawk Kid (9/2), Zamperini (5/1), Garrick (13/2), Desert Ruler (8/1), Doctor Cross (9/1), Medalla De Oro (10/1), Breden (12/1), Count Montecristo (14/1), Villette (14/1), Eltezam (20/1), Voi (25/1), Perfect Quest (40/1)
With the ground to his linking and having dropped to a mark 3lb lower than when he won this race in 2015, ZAMPERINI could be good value to retain his crown. Eltezam is unexposed at the trip and also appeals at the likely odds, while Villette and Count Montecristo are others with decent claims and are worthy of consideration for places in the frame at least.
- Zamperini
- Eltezam
- Villette
