Downpatrick bumper winner on good ground who faced some difficult tests subsequently. Shaped well on hurdling debut three weeks ago when travelling nicely until two out. Will improve for the experience and this chance to race against her own sex.
Has been threatening to win one of these but connections are yet to figure out her tactical needs. Should improve for her first run back from a break but she is beginning to look exposed.
Smart bumper mare who got to within 3L of Fayonagh on her debut. Improved greatly during the winter to open her account by 21L and mixed it in top company thereafter. Makes her hurdling debut after a seven month break and one to note in the ring.
Winner of a Downpatrick bumper in 2015 who had two years on the sidelines prior to her two inauspicious runs over timber. Hard to fancy.
Runs to a consistent level over hurdles but is beginning to look rather one paced. Likely to find a few of these too quick also.
Half-sister to The New One who had built a promising reputation in point-to-points. Showed a good attitude to open her account on her debut but failed to build on that. Looks the type to make her mark in this sphere and trainer took this in 2015.
Point-to-point winner at Ballingarry (yielding) in June and went on to land a Sligo bumper two months later which has produced a couple of winners. Stays well and acts on the going and one of a few interesting debutantes in this.
Finished almost 60L behind Martello Park in February but improved to land a Wexford bumper a month later. Highly tried on both attempts over hurdles and ought to be ready to give a good account.
Wexford bumper winner who has finished second on six occasions. Nothing wrong with her attitude though and she had a few of these behind her last time.
Made little impression on Tramore hurdling debut when sent off at 66/1. Faces another difficult task here.
Tried to make all last time but folded quickly when headed. Looks held by Osco Mosco on that effort and is beginning to look moderate.
Has offered little in bumpers and three runs over hurdles including two runs in cheekpieces. Faces another uphill task against these.
Landed a mares maiden point-to-point at Borris House in February. That form appeared to amount to little and she had been pulled-up in two previous starts.
Well beaten at odds of 100/1 on debut last week and it will take a dramatic turn of events to turn things around that quickly.
Down the field at long odds on both bumper starts, although there were signs of progress last time. Remains of limited appeal in this contest.
Got no further than the first on sole point-to-point start and pitched in at a high level on first run under rules.
Winner of a Lemonfield point-to-point who made a pleasing hurdling debut back in April. That form leaves her with little to find and she gets a generous allowance.
Finished second in a point-to-point, but has shown little in a bumper and hurdle. Needs to raise her game in this company.
Stable in form and this daughter of Yeats is closely related to winning hurdler and chaser Down Under. Entered as first reserve.
Modest form in bumpers but in the process of showing improved form before coming down at Wexford on hurdling debut. Second reserve.
Third foal of an unraced dam who is a sister to the useful hurdlers/chasers Call Me Vic and Shoreacres. Third reserve.
Forecasts
Martello Park (3/1), Reine Des Pres (7/2), Osco Mosco (9/2), Sunrise Lady (5/1), Fintara (11/1), Shimmer's Rock (12/1), Rolanna (12/1), No Sun No Summer (12/1), Vanellope (14/1), Become Legend (20/1), Dawn Shadow (25/1), Dawn Light Cave (33/1), Owenacurra Lass (50/1), Juniors Angel (66/1), Goanddoit (66/1), Ask Heather (100/1), Oakfield Rose (100/1), Glamorous Gold (100/1), Trojan Lass (100/1), Clear View (100/1), Quay Witness (100/1)
The hurdling experience and fitness advantage enjoyed by OSCO MOSCO makes her the choice in a decent maiden to open the card. She has been unlucky to find one too good on no less than six occasions despite going down with all guns blazing. Gordon Elliott's mare deserves a change of luck and this looks the right opportunity. Martello Park, Shimmers Rock and Sunrise Lady are all interesting recruits to the jumping game having shown good levels of ability in bumpers. A bigger threat may be posed by Reine Des Pres who receives a useful allowance and who looked like a future winner on her hurdling debut.
- Osco Mosco
- Reine Des Pres
- Shimmer's Rock
