Back on last winning mark (when a C&D winner here last December) and finds himself i much calmer waters after being outclassed in a Class 2 event at Uttoxeter last time. May have needed that run too and will strip fitter here. Solid chance.
Can pull hard in his races and that often costs him his chance at the business end, so the application of the hood today may help in that regard. Very well handicapped if it does, but hard to know what he's capable of at present.
Some promise on Ascot debut last October but little since, however goes handicapping on a low mark, gets cheekpieces for the first time and takes a big hike up in trip (will suit on breeding), all of which make him look interesting. Watch market.
Well handicapped on his wins of last year but not much to cheer lately, although not disgraced on the Flat at Chelmsford latest. Yard form still very patchy and with doubts about the trip too, not hard to look elsewhere.
Some promise in bumpers and novice/maiden hurdles but was easily beaten off on handicap debut at Huntingdon in May and not seen since. Early days so may yet do better, step up in trip may help but questions to answer now.
Useful at his best on the Flat (stays 1m4f) and has caught the eye a couple of times in novice hurdles to date, notably at Kempton last time. Goes handicapping on a low mark, top jockey booked and takes a big step up in trip, so of interest here.
Game little mare that tries very hard, back off a long absence to run a stormer at Sedgefield but was mugged late on. A worry this comes relatively quick and she may "bounce" after that effort, but stays well and should run her race again.
Winner over 2m5f at Newton Abbot in May but stays this far, may have needed most recent run after a break but in truth, didn't show enough, and yard form has taken a turn for the worse. Others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Shinooki (11/4), Miss Mayfair (9/2), Spin Point (5/1), Moidore (6/1), The Way You Dance (7/1), Oakidoaki (7/1), Doolin (10/1), Raising Hope (25/1)
Not easy to solve, despite the small field, and many can be given a chance. Miss Mayfair is likely to try and break these from the front and she'll battle to the bitter end, but there are some lurkers in the shape of SPIN POINT and Doolin here, both of whom might leave their previous form behind. Spin Point went in a few notebooks after his Kempton run and the booking of Richard Johnson looks a big clue. Doolin should perform better over this trip and with the yard going well, makes plenty of appeal too. Shinooki likes it here and is back on a winning mark.
- Spin Point
- Doolin
