Showed some useful form when trained in France (finished 5th in a Listed race) and now has his second run for his current yard. Well held on debut at York (hampered 2f out) but was weakening at time. This run may well tell us more about him.

Made an eye-catching debut for this yard at Newbury having previously been with Kevin Ryan but he is a fragile sort. Failed to build on his stable debut at Newmarket last time and stepped up 4f in trip here (never tried at this trip before).

Useful chaser who go his career back on track when switched to the Flat and won a maiden on debut at Ripon (1m4f, heavy). Probably ran better than his finishing position suggests last time (did too much) and remains of interest.

Fared well last season when with John Quinn landing a couple of staying events but has shown very little this year for this yard. Really does look to be just going through the motions at the moment and best watched for now.

Hasn't quite recaptured his winning form of last year but there is still time for him to get back to his best especially when back on the AW. Ran well over C&D last time out when beaten by Jabbaar and weighted to finish close to that one again.

Had threatened on a few occasions to turn in a performance like he did last time when scoring over C&D off a 3lb lower mark. He's had issues with consistency in the past which slightly tempers enthusiasm here as he bids to follow-up.

One of five C&D winners in this who turned in his best performance when winning a weak Class 2 handicap here in September from out of the weights. Fortunate not to get hammered for that by the handicapper but others still preferred.

Below form on his last run in Ireland at Ballinrobe for her former trainer and makes her debut for a new yard here. Still yet to win a race though and is starting to look disappointing and faces a tough task here.

Despite winning over C&D twice when with Richard Fahey he's been through a few yards since and looks to be struggling for form of late. Mark is falling but looks to need even more help from the handicapper yet.

Losing run is starting to mount up despite some creditable performances including a 4th runner-up slot when looking very unlucky last time out on the AW at Newcastle. Ought to be able to run well here although this is a slightly better contest.

Still remains a maiden and despite running with credit does appear to be a little hard to win with. Looks as though any progress has levelled out and could be destined for another placed effort.

Forecasts

Mixboy (15/8), Jabbaar (7/2), Nurse Nightingale (7/1), Henry Smith (9/1), Mr Sundowner (9/1), Henpecked (10/1), Dolphin Village (16/1), Chocolat Noir (20/1), Dalshand (33/1), Weld Al Emarat (33/1), Trendsetter (33/1)

Verdict

With five C&D winners in the field they won’t need a map to guide them around here although this looks a tough test for at least three of those former winner here including the most recent Mr Sundowner who looked fortunate to land a Class 2 handicap here in September. Henry Smith and Jabbaar are closely matched on their running here last time and it won’t be a surprise to see the latter turn around the form from their last meeting. Henpecked is starting to look a rather luckless individual and a place may be the best she can manage again along with Nurse Nightingale who is starting to look exposed. Dalshand is still an unknown quantity with the stable still looking to find the key to him and MIXBOY is the suggestion given her still looks to have improvement in him off this mark on the Flat. He did too much too soon last time and will need to settle better here but if he does he could add a Flat handicap to his jumps victories.
  1. Mixboy
  2. Henry Smith
  3. Henpecked
