Record of 4/11 on the AW including over this C&D on his penultimate outing. Held off this 4lb higher mark subsequently but remains of interest returning to this track.
Well held in two starts since finishing runner-up over C&D in August. Races off the same mark today and interesting if repeating that effort today.
In good form earlier this year finishing in the first two on four consecutive starts prior to finishing well beaten in a 0-70 at Kempton in August. One for the shortlist with the drop in grade and step up in trip likely to suit.
Winner over an extended 1m here in July and ran well when finishing third over this C&D subsequently. Well held upped to 1m2f since and likely more needed if he's to take this.
Well beaten in two starts for Denis Quinn but a better effort when debuting for this yard at Chelmsford earlier this month. Interesting to see how he fares having placed off a 12lb higher mark in May.
Six time winner but failed to build on a good third here last month when well beaten on heavy ground and in first time cheekpieces (absent today) at Chester last time out. Steps up in trip today.
Ran well when beaten 1L into third over C&D in November last year but well held in two starts on turf this term. Has placed on five of his six AW starts and is likely fair better today.
Fair efforts in three maiden starts including when fifth over C&D in August. Well beaten over 6f on handicap debut at Leicester (soft) last time and stepping up in trip today.
Sole victory came on debut over 6f at Chelmsford in May last year. Held in recent starts and more needed if he's to take this.
Ran well in three maidens including over C&D but well held upped in trip on handicap debut. Remains less exposed than most and one for the shortlist dropping back in distance and grade toady.
Held in four starts since finishing fourth at Thirsk (good) over 1m in August. Others have a more obvious chance in this contest.
Ran well to finish third over 1m2f at Lingfield last month but could finish only mid-division at Brighton (1m2f, good-to-soft) subsequently and more needed if he's to score today.
Struggled in the main this season including when finishing sixth of seven at Newcastle over an extended 1m4f last week. Drops markedly in trip today.
Forecasts
Tailor's Row (4/1), Barnaby Brook (6/1), Island Flame (7/1), Bayston Hill (8/1), Makhfar (9/1), Cat Royale (11/1), Perfect Spy (11/1), Oregon Gift (12/1), Marbooh (14/1), Fintech (18/1), Lil Sophella (20/1), Know Your Name (25/1), Chelwood Gate (50/1)
MAKHFAR was in good form prior to stepping up in grade at Kempton last time out and he can register a fourth career victory by taking this contest on his return to Class 6 competition. Both of the selections handicap victories came in Class 6 contests and he can get the better of Perfect Spy who drops in grade and trip having disappointed over further on handicap debut last time out while Barnaby Brook, who has finished in the first three on 72% of his AW starts so far can finish third.
- Makhfar
- Perfect Spy
- Barnaby Brook
