More effective on artificial surfaces than turf, and took his record to 2 wins from 3 starts with a good win here last time. Up another 2f here but should stay, comes here in better form than most and as an improver, must be taken seriously.
Efforts lately have left plenty to be desired, takes a big step up in trip here (not certain to suit) and a tough task at today's weights regardless..
Only had three runs for the yard, well down the field in good class handicaps in them all but is a classy type that will act on the surface, gets the trip fine and will find this a little easier. Hood goes on today and if that works, has a chance.
Not seen out since April when well beaten at Wolverhampton, but a winner previously to that, stays this trip and acts well on the surface. May be difficult to train but clearly has some ability and needs a market check if nothing else.
Classy handicapper at best, and rated much higher than this at his peak, but not seen out for over a year now and best efforts have come at a mile. On those scores, best left alone today, but one to keep an eye on with future engagements in mind.
Has been seen more over hurdles than on the Flat this year, not really pulling any trees up but a couple of reasonable efforts to his name. Trip here is fine, but a long time since he won one and others make more convincing cases.
Seems to be refinding a bit of form, but very slowly, and is an infrequent winner anyway. Best form tends to come on the Fibresand at Southwell and he may be of more interest back in handicaps there this winter.
Much improved throughout 2016 but not seen out again until reappearing at Chelmsford in late September, where he ran a little better than the finishing position suggested. Trip and surface fine, should have come on from that effort a bit. Chance.
Got to go back to 2015 for his last win, which shows how tricky he is to win with, but scores points for his consistency and the fact he's got decent form over this C&D too. Should run his race again, but more likely to place than win.
Came back to form with a hard-fought win at Southwell on Sunday but by far and away his best form comes there, and he often fails to reproduce it elsewhere. Up in trip here too and there are enough questions to make you look elsewhere for a winner.
Winner at Recar over this trip last week, taking advantage of a slipping handicap mark but this is much tougher. Does at least come here in form but simply looks to have too much to do.
First run for new yard (who get winners here) and was last seen victorious at Wolverhampton over 1m4f. That was back in April, however, so likely to need this after an absence, but one to watch for the future here.
Stays this trio and has some form in low-level handicaps but nothing of the calibre of a few here, and faces a stiff task at these weights today.
A winner at Ripin in April but it's all unravelled since then, and she finished well beaten on her latest start at Pontefract. Gets plenty of weight but even that's not enough of a pull to make her the selection.
Forecasts
Burcan (1/1), Fayez (4/1), Gerry The Glover (7/1), Every Chance (10/1), Restive (20/1), Zabeel Star (22/1), Tha'ir (33/1), Balty Boys (33/1), Muqarred (33/1), Lat Hawill (40/1), Dance Of Fire (40/1), La Casa Tarifa (50/1), Luv U Whatever (80/1), Toboggan's Fire (100/1)
A tricky event to try and solve, with those well in at the weights all having some sort of question to answer over their wellbeing, the trip, or are coming back off an absence. BURCAN should come on for his recent effort at Chelmsford and if so, has less in the way of question marks than a few. Capable of classy form on his day, he is taken to get the better of Fayez, who has plenty on at these weights but is going the right way when most are going backwards, and the consistent Gerry The Glover , who can once again hit the frame.
- Burcan
- Fayez
- Gerry The Glover
